That didn't take long, did it?

DaddySatyr -> RE: RUSH is too good for Ashley MAdison... (3/8/2012 12:12:40 PM)

So, it's laughable when someone stands by their beliefs (whether you agree with their beliefs or not)?

Personal integrity is something to be made fun of? That's very enlightening.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

That's just you projecting. You have no idea why anyone else is laughing because you didn't actually ask them. Just assumed.

Personally, as an advocate of the free market, I find Rush's stance on supression of the free market to be pretty vile, no laughing matter and a direct opposition to conservative ideals.

I do think the notion of Rush having any sort of personal integrity to be a pretty laughable idea though. Being arrested for fraud and 'personal integrity' don't really hold hands all that well.

So, what did I say that leads you to think that, pray tell?

When he has some personal fuckin integrity, then it will mean something to someone, but that aint happenin...

Until then, anything he espouses as a belief is fucking laughable.

End of that joke.

Projecting? Try again.

"Suppression of the free market"? I don't know how you figure that. Suppression of the free market would be if he insisted that his advertisers only advertise with him (which some entertainers/networks have done).

His personal integrity shines through, right here (while I agree he doesn't have much) in that; at a time when he's bleeding sponsors and needs to show something positive to his bosses, he stands by his principles (whether we agree with them or not {and I do}) at the possible risk of the loss of his job.

Sorry. I think your vision on this particular facet of this issue is a bit skewed. Has he done scummy things in the past? Of course he has and, I suppose, in your view, he should never be forgiven? Well, that's a shame. I'll be thinking about that when I think about how Maher, Sykes, Schultz, et al. should be accorded any forgiveness.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

The beauty of their offer is/was.....they probably knew they'd be turned down...and in the end, still got well over 20 million in air time because of it, and didn't pay any more for it than the cost of a stamp and a phone call :)

Not only that but, if Rush turns it down, he's laughable. If he accepted them, the mamby-pambies on the left start talking about how he caved, etc. It was a lose/lose proposition for Rush.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Rush just doesn't want to spoil his secret fishin' hole. Where do you think he found wives #2-4?

I don't need to try again. You are projecting. Period.

I disagree. Uncle Ronny, with the stroke of a pen, demolished the true free market back in the 80s and it's been downhill ever since

quote:

His personal integrity shines though but he doesn't have much of it? Sounds like an oxymoron to me.

quote:

According to him, the loss of sponsorship is miniscule and means nothing. Can't have it both ways. It either means something or it doesn't.

quote:

Sorry. I think your vision on this particular facet of this issue is a bit skewed.

You can think what you like. I think your vision of Rush is colored with glasses of rose and I'm afraid it just doesn't cover up the distinct smell he leaves off.

quote:

Has he done scummy things in the past? Of course he has and, I suppose, in your view, he should never be forgiven?

Well, you suppose wrong. I believe that rehab is certainly a possibility when undertaken with a sincere effort and desire to change whatever it is that ails you.

There you go projecting again. You really should try to stop doing that. It makes you appear elitist and snobby. You assume.. keep right on going with false assumptions that make you look somewhat foolish and certainly don't do you any favors in the dom department. You are really going to think about 'me' and my thoughts when you contemplate Maher,
Sykes etc?? Bullshit.

YOU are responsible for yourself.. so don't lay your cards on my doorstep, dude.

How very typical of you to try to push things off on others rather than stand on your own two feet and own your own attitudes, thoughts and beliefs. Trust me when I say, that YOU never, ever enter into my thoughts when I make decisions on the good, bad or indifferent character traits of talking heads. Really, I am more than capable of coming to my own conclusions and I promise to never let 'well, the other side does it, too' to be my EXCUSE for poor behavior. You go ahead and blame it on me though. Whatever helps you sleep at night and as long as you don't have to worry about some slip of a sub ONLINE coerce your domly mindset. I'm so impressed.

MusicalBoredom -> RE: RUSH is too good for Ashley MAdison... (3/8/2012 1:54:51 PM)

When I drive I listen to conservative radio. The primary reason is that like I to hear what everyone says. I don't hold to those ideas mind you but I do want to hear what's being said. This morning I heard Rush do his intro. It started with him saying how he's not hurting for sponsors and the the "liberal media" is telling lies about advertisers leaving. He then went into his proof where he talked about Ashley Madison. He went on and on about Ashley Madison and how they help people cheat but that he didn't want them as a sponsor. He must have mentioned them and their ability to help you cheat 2 dozen times. It struck me at the time that it was a paid endorsement much like product placement in a movie. Now of course that's just my opinion (before anyone asks for proof). It just seemed that if he was really just telling a story about someone he didn't want as an advertiser then he would have called them "an internet based company that specializes in the kind of dating activity that he doesn't support" or something similar.

Trust me; no one here (except for one) figures into my thoughts. I notice you didn't repost the two examples I quoted as making fun of integrity. That kind of shows a lot too.

When I mentioned the spirit of forgiveness, I meant the over-all shadenfreude which is playing itself out in front of all of us. Believe me, it had nothing to do with you, personally.

I find it a shame that there's a segment of the population that has so little compassion for some people while claiming to have endless amounts for others. I find it almost sinful that these same people are the first to cry foul, when the shoe is on the other foot.

I find it abhorrent, when I see the feeling of entitlement and "we're better than you because we're right" coming from a segment on the left side of the discussion.

I find it sad that the divisiveness and celebration of same will probably be the undoing of our society.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

I guess that's a fair point and while certainly, I wouldn't put a "wink, wink. nudge, nudge" move past Rush, I kind of doubt it.

As I said, earlier, I think they put him in a lose/lose proposition and there's no way he could have been happy about that. They didn't need to send out a press release. They could have picked up a phone. I am quite sure that while Rush might not accept their offer, publicly, there's no way, at this point, he's refusing many calls from anyone that wants to discuss advertising (in a positive way. I'm sure he's ducking calls from present sponsors).

I don't listen to him so, I'm glad you brought this up. I find that many mentions of a company's name a bit surprising, also but, I did listen to Rush, years ago and I remember that he has a tendency to "get something in his teeth and not let it go".

I am sure he has fact sheets or something similar (on the computer screen) so that he can have easy reference to facts and figures but, I think we've seen a bunch of evidence (lately, especially) that his show is not scripted LOL.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

+1. We'd see the same thread with the same folks all berating him because he took AM on as a sponsor. Dig around far enough and don't be surprised if the same people who put Sandra fluke up to her shenanigans are behind this.

While we are on the topic of Sandra Fluke.... 3K/year for contraceptives? If you are spending 3K a year for that you are either the world's worst bargain hunter or the world's biggest party favor (read: slut).

Which would then make anyone who runs down to Wal-mart and gets the BOGO for $9 a cheap whore, or what exactly is the point?

How much do you pay, by the way?
