First--I'm going to go with those who said cell phone and experience. If you don't know what you're doing....PLEASE call 911 or get to an ER or if not as urgent, a primary care clinic if open.

I was a DM for almost 20 years, work in healthcare for a living, and I volunteer (unpaid) as a 911 EMS provider.
"OOPS" in the dungeon should not be more than a bandaid/small wound dressings and a cold pack. If it is beyond that, you need to get you or your boy/sub/girl etc. to a professional. Suturing for wounds is not appropriate for the dungeon--you do not have a sterile tray, and even if you do, it's not the place to do it---chances are, if the wound is deep enough to need suturing, it should be properly irrigated first. The dungeon is no place to do that--go to an ED or a UrgentCare center and get it done there. It is simply NOT worth getting an infection.

Dusky Pearls--you know I think you're the cats meow, I adore you--but unless you are a surgeon (and who knows, maybe you are), a scalpel belongs in the hands of a doctor OUTSIDE the dungeon. They are BEYOND sharp, and the harm/damage they will do in untrained hands is far greater than whatever the top managed to do in the first place. Sutures, scalpels, syringes--these may be toys to those who "play" with them, but they can also do a world of harm.

I want you to believe me--I have seen firsthand what happens to people when those with good intentions "help"--
basic first aid should suffice in the dungeon. and if it is beyond basic first aid, it is beyond what SHOULD be done in the dungeon.

sorry if I'm on a soap box again--I would like to prevent injuries from happening in the first place

I love you to death.  I had to say that first.

OP, are you putting together this "oooppps box" for yourself or  for a community setting?  The latter means you need to have more things on hand and the former would mean that you have to create it tailor made for you.  What kind of play do you do?  Build your kit with that in mind.

Here is what I have in My first aid kit:

Tylenol
Motrin
Sterile gloves (latex and non)
An ace bandage
band-aids
alcohol wipes
gauze
medical tape
a splint kit
an instant ice pack
scissors
a pair of tweezers
ben-gay
antiseptic cream
sterile bandages

The only item that I've ever used and had to replace?  The tylenol because I've given it out when people had headaches when spending time at the dungeon.

You might also want to consider having some naproxen around as well as the ibuprofen. Some people don't get along that well with ibuprofen (motrin being a brand of that). Also, if you're going to have an instant ice pack, you might want to consider heat packs too, for muscles that knot or cramp up. Although that might be more an after care item than a medkit item.

In re instant ice packs. If you don't have one of those blue ice deals or a proper ice pack, in a pinch a bag of frozen peas or frozen corn, sufficiently broken up, will make a wonderful form fitting ice pack, particularly good for injured knees. But you'll need to cook and eat them afterward. Refrozen veggies get freezer burn, which is just nasty if you accidentally cook and eat them later.

Love you, too LadyPact

Maybe if you didn't make your boys scream so much, you wouldn't go through all that Tylenol!

Here's whats in my kit--
nitrile gloves (not sterile)
band-aids
4 x 4 -gauze pads (sterile, individually wrapped gauze dressing)
medical tape
1 combine dressing (heavy dressing for a major bleed)
Ace bandage (compression wrap)
disposable ice pack
gauze kling roll
tweezers
EMT shears
CPR mask
disposable disaster blanket (foil)

If I bring my full kit, it also contains trauma dressings, an ambu bag, stethoscope/BP cuff, sam splint, penlight, glucose gel

You should hear one of the play partners I have now.  Holy crap!  I'll send you a tape.

(It's great, though, because he yells and then turns into the human vibrator from pain.)

Sorry...... Back on topic.

Take notice that My kit doesn't include some things that other people would recommend.  That's because My needle kit comes with Me to every dungeon, whether I'm planning on piercing anyone or not.  The "needle kit" contains everything and anything that has to do with creating or closing an open wound.  Needles, staples, scalpels, absorbent sheeting for blood play, iodine, materials for sutures, etc, etc.
