Close. Like MSNBC is close to the truth by taking some of it and spinning the hell out of it and then repeating it until they think everyone believes it.

I listened to the recording. He said Republicans do not "war" on women because Republican men do not "war" on the same people for whom they show their esteem and for whom they outwardly shown this when they marry them, have a family with them, buy them presents, open car doors for them and take them to dinner. These are all indications that you care about that person, that gender, not that you "war on them", and of course he is right and of course women know this.

RUSH: You know, liberals, ladies and gentlemen, are still in a state of shock and disbelief over the notion that "social issues" don't hurt Republicans. You see the reason for the manufactured, false, it-doesn't-really-exist attempt to convince people Republicans have a war on women... Which, again, as mayor of Realville: Republicans date women, they marry women, they have children with women.

They take women to dinner. They buy women diamonds and open car doors for women. Yet there's this Republican war on women, and the Republicans want to actually somehow reach into their purses and grab their birth control pills and take 'em away from 'em. The Democrats actually think that they're going to win with this! The Democrats in the media actually believe they can convince (in this era) the American people that Republicans hate women and are actually at war with them. The Democrats are like Obama. Obama spends money on green energy and expects it just to happen by magic. He invests in all this green energy infrastructure and when there aren't any new jobs his literally befuddled.

A wife beater will do the same....

And not a single word about "esteem".

"New Castrati" says a guy on his 4th marriage.........not sure if he should be a role model for what a gentlemen is.

He also pointed out that he judged at the Miss America pageant, as proof he "loves" women.......[8|]

"It doesn't look like Michelle Obama follows her own nutritionary dietary advice. And then we hear that she's out eating ribs at 1500 calories a serving with 141 grams of fat ... No, I'm trying to say that our first lady does not project the image of women that you might see on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue or of a woman Alex Rodriguez might date every six months or what have you." –Rush Limbaugh, Feb. 21, 2011

Totally respctful of women....as chatle or sexual objects.....

.. call the little woman a cunt, cheat on them, divorce them, refuse to pay child support, beat them, kick their mentally disabled sons, rape, sexually assault/harrass, fuck their maids and nanny's, hire illegal aliens for peanuts in payment, have children with women other than their wives, have homosexual encounters while married ... nah.. republicans never do stuff like that. Stand up guys, those republicans. Practically perfect in every way.

[8|]

It's an individual thing, not a republican thing. Some republicans rock, others are scum. Some democrats rock, some are scum and both genders have their fair share of transgressions.

Some people just suck.

1100 bills in Congress <-- that is the issue

It speaks for itself.

My ex-husband used to open car doors for me; he also bought me presents; we also had a family together. Want to know what else he did to show me how much he "cared" for me??
He beat me. So from my perspective, and from the perspective of virtually every abused woman in America you and Rush are both full of crap.

DarkSteven -> RE: Rush Suggests GOP Is Not Anti-Woman Because Republicans "Take Women To Dinner. They Buy Women Diamon (3/16/2012 9:48:55 PM)

Sounds like the old line, "I'm not a misogynist. Some of my best friends are women."

I worry about what might come next. Forced sterilization for the handicapped, mentally ill and others perceived as maybe being poor mother "material"? It's happened before and I wouldn't be surprised if certain other segments of the population were next targeted in this war against reproductive health.

You being a past abused spouse does not mean GOP men are abusing their spouses and so therefore are actually in a "war with women" even though they do things that show they have high esteem for them and care about them, as Rush and I previously explained, by marrying them, raising families with them, taking them to dinner and opening doors for them, and purchasing them gifts as Rush explained.

This insult you have for me, and I can only speak for me and not Rush, is therefore completely unjustified and I question why it was necessary to bring your past personal marrage failure followed by an attempt to group me and other GOP men in with your abusive spouse and then follow that up with a personal attack on me, especially into a political discussion, in order to prove GOP men are in a "war with women".

Are you instead in a "war against men"? That would explain much.

Erieangel was explaining that opening car doors and bringing gifts is NOT mutually exclusive from holding women in contempt and treating them badly.

Nice slam on the "marriage failure" comment too, Arturas.

Yeah, that was low... downright snake-like.

Oh good, that lousy entertainer with the ethics of a pic said something else stupid. I wonder how many new listeners he has picked up since this started?

farglebargle -> RE: Rush Suggests GOP Is Not Anti-Woman Because Republicans "Take Women To Dinner. They Buy Women Diamon (3/17/2012 5:00:24 AM)

Yeah, he's acting like guys don't REGULARLY take their wives and girlfriends out to Red Lobster for an apology dinner to show how sorry they are for BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF HER.

Yeah Rush. You're not warring against women, because they're OBJECTS not worthy of spending your warrior spirit on.

Actually, they don't. I don't. No man I know does.

Where did you get that idea? Do you actually want me to believe men "Beat the shit out of her" and then wait for her to heal up and then take her out to dinner to "make up for it", and so dovetailing this into the OP, this means GOP men in particular do this and so this proves there is a war on women and that what Rush said was incredible but not your statement here which I should take as intelligent discourse and truth?

farglebargle -> RE: Rush Suggests GOP Is Not Anti-Woman Because Republicans "Take Women To Dinner. They Buy Women Diamon (3/17/2012 6:32:38 AM)

I think once you forget that Women are human beings, and start thinking of them as property, ( you know, in REALITY, not here... ) you're already so far out of touch with reality, you may very well choose to eat at Red Lobster, horrible as it sounds.

Actually, I did not bring her marriage failure into this first. She brought it up indirectly to support her position. I simply made an obvious observation.

Also, I agree that marrying women, raising families, opening car doors and bringing them gifts can be mutually exclusive from holding women in contempt and being "Anti-Woman" I also should point out there was no support given that this is the case the overwhelming majority of the time so no such negative position on Rush or myself, much less an insult, is in any way justified by that post.

Moonhead -> RE: Rush Suggests GOP Is Not Anti-Woman Because Republicans "Take Women To Dinner. They Buy Wom (3/17/2012 6:48:21 AM)

Anybody noticed that Rush is speaking for the whole of the GOP again?
We'll have somebody saying that he's just an entertainer in a minute...
