Most of the gun activity here is drug money based gangs mostly made up of immigrants. The drugs and the guns come over the border and get resold in alleys.

The amount of guns that would have to be stolen to supply criminals isn't realistic. Yes, some have been stolen from law abiding citizens. But, then again, someone in LA had their car stolen and used in a high speed chase.

I am sure it varies state to state but imo, the cat is out of the bag and has been for so long that guns are everywhere in the US and it would be impossible to gather them up now (so again, I an understand where you are coming from and your reasons for getting a gun).. Canada never really had the problem of tons of guns floating around so it was easy to implement more restrictive gun control there... Its also not a simple problem since its also about very different attitudes and cultures (US compared to Canada or other countries).. But given what Aswad said about Norway, I think I would be more freaked out by living there than the US.. [sm=hewah.gif]

the cat is well and truly out of the bag, but does that mean we have to let it run wild? I can't believe that the answer to too many guns is even more guns

i think the answer depends on who you are and where you are... for me, that means moving someplace where i dont have to worry about it.. although the gun thing for me is just one aspect of many to decide to move rather than stay..

I don't believe that the answer would be taking guns away from law abiding citizens.....but letting the criminals keep their guns. Because they clearly already don't give a shit about gun laws anyway.

Again....your basing what a law abiding citizen should own based on what a criminal is doing. So let's take your car away because people illegally street race or could drive it through a farmer's market.

hardcybermaster -> RE: Completely off topic (4/24/2012 4:56:00 PM)

that has been your only answer, they have guns so I need a gun too.
I have just heard that they have bigger guns, what are you going to do?
Hang on, they have more guns, what are you going to do?
It can't be the answer can it? More and more guns? Really?

hardcybermaster -> RE: Completely off topic (4/24/2012 4:58:43 PM)

oh btw, I know lots of farmers, farmers markets are generally held in town centres and in the mornings, who the fuck is street racing at 7am?
It's a pointless aside I know but I felt I had to say it as your analogy was so piss poor

OsideGirl -> RE: Completely off topic (4/24/2012 5:01:42 PM)

A couple of years a go, a guy drove through the Santa Monica Farmers Market, killed 10 people and injured about two dozen other people. Still think it's a piss poor analogy?

You think that you get to force your view on everyone. This was a thread about studying, taking a test and passing with 100%. You decided to piss all over that

hardcybermaster -> RE: Completely off topic (4/24/2012 5:20:29 PM)

I did, I was hoping that you might pause to think about the negatives of guns rather than just go woo hoo I am so clever if I pointed out that guns are not the only way out

OsideGirl -> RE: Completely off topic (4/25/2012 7:24:58 AM)

You some how think that everyone that owns a gun doesn't contemplate that responsibility and spends their free time firing randomly out of car windows.

You don't like guns, we get that. But that doesn't mean that a gun owner cannot behave in a responsible and safe manner. I've already thought out the responsibilities of owning a gun. I'm comfortable with those responsibilities.
