My mom was like oh wow and I was infuritated. The place is located on Edgar Hill Road in Washington Township and is known as “the dungeon,” the site of sex parties that charge members for a Bondage Domination and Sadomasochism (BDSM) experience. That is according to the group’s website which even advertises cutting and blood play. The site was taken down Tuesday. Critics say they know why. “What goes on up there – I wouldn’t even say on TV,” Leonard Dean said. “I mean, it’s all about sex and it’s all dirty, about what you can get and it doesn’t need to be here and the man makes a lot of money doing it.” Linda Dean lives on a piece of the land owned by her parents, Ron and Joann Valetti of Greensburg. She says they recently handed over camp operations to a business partner. The barn is locked, but she managed to snap several photos of the alleged sex devices inside. “We just want it to stop,” Linda Dean said. “I would have never in a million years thought that this was going on and I’m ashamed and I’m humiliated and it’s a shame.” The chairwoman of the township supervisors told KDKA-TV she couldn’t comment, but did confirm the board is investigating. The owners of the property didn’t return phone calls seeking comment

Wait, this is on private property right? What do they care what goes on, on private property? Things are consensual, being charged or not? I never understood why people feel they have the right to say what people do with their private lives.

Maybe - I was trying to read the article, but it was not the best writing, it was a little convoluted. Is it the property owner that is complaining? Did they rent their barn to someone who didn't tell them what it was going to be used for? If this is someone using their own property, then, unless there is a real complaint, that doesn't require tresspassing to find out about, people need to mind their own buisness.

I don't know if I read it correctly but it seems like it is saying that the owner of the property is the woman who found it all taking place in the dungeon. If this is correct then the woman and town are correct in shutting it down. It's also probably a zoning issue and possibly an crime of solicitation. I'm from near that area and I'm not the least bit surprised by this. This isn't the first time such places have been closed down in that county.

The barn itself? Or are BDSM activities illegal there? Im really not sure why zoning would be an issue unless they were zoned for having livestock facilities (the barn)

FR~ The only legal action being taken at the time was a zoning issue, land has to be zoned to run adult, or commercial enterprises. That barn is being used as a 'private club' with paid admission, hence a business of an adult nature. You can't run that on residential zoned land. (At least here you can't, I assume most cities/counties have zoning restrictions.)

I didn't read the article but most SM businesses get shut down because they don't have thier ducks in a row.. like zoning, like the appropriate permits -- because they want to fly under the radar.. it usually backfires... what happens there, in terms of activities may be just fine.. but as a business, they might need specific permitting... and you can carry on and be outraged.. but its not something that people tolerate all over.. right or wrong

I know the guys who run woodstocks, they winter in Florida. It used to be an outdoor event. I went to the BlackRose website to see if the old outdoor Woodstocks was in the same county but the "where" section of the BlaskRose website and it is also down. If this is the same guys, I hope this doesn't turn out badly for them.

There is something to be said for zoning laws. While I am obviously very open and free, I would not want someone conducting a late night business for profit with a huge stream of unknowns in my neighborhood.
