Every section has it's own guideline as well as a FAQ section.

i was joking around, being facetious. beyond the obvious informal niceness expected in intros, are u actually suggesting the rules cover this type of behavior differential between forums? i know this is not the case, and the guidelines for this forum specifically state:
"Keep the discussions civil and mature."

I do not particularly care about it, nor am I complaining about it in this thread.

I just called BS on this:

When she said that, this thread was still in Introductions so she wasn't allowed to say what she really felt. Once the mods moved it, those "be nice" rules no longer applied.

My mistake.  I thought you were actually serious.

The guideline does say that the Introduction section is for the welcoming of new members to the site.  That's why the first responses on the thread welcomed the OP.

Just for fun, here's a quick paragraph from guidelines elsewhere:

quote:

Do not submit multiple postings for your site, additional posts leading to pages within an already listed site, or redirects/mirrors under false names.  Likewise, please don't post your travel schedules, or updates to it, here.  That's what your own website is for.

I'm guessing that's how this thread go moved to Off Topic in the first place.

I'm happy to say that when folks pull out the dreaded P words "you're a prostitute!" "that's porn!" I don't bother to debate with them. I simply do not care enough about the ramblings of fun snatchers. I can't say I wave a Girl Power flag 24/7 but, stuff like this really bums me out.

Hee hee, well, I'll respond back, oh burning one.

My analysis is that it's sociological. I haven't seen it in countries where prostitutes/whores are a legally protected laborer. In the US, there was even a case, maybe 18 months ago, where a law student was paying her tuition by escorting. A prospective client raped her, she reported the crime -- and was arrested for prostitution and expelled from law school for immoral behavior. Yeah.

Also, in the US, it's generational. Women who came of age in the mid-90s and later are much more likely to see porn as a legitimate industry and potential career. In 1990, there were maybe 1,000 female porn actresses in the US. Now, there are about 1,000 new women entering the business each month. For those under 30, it's mainstream, and for those over 35, it's a horribly filthy business.

I don't read every FAQ because I am generally a polite person who followers netiquete and the net is full of nice people who will tell you if you make a mistake, esp. if you say, 'Thanks sorry about that'. So I don't know if it is in the official rules or not. But at least by tradition, the perpose of introductions is to simply say hello to someone, without holding them to the same standards that someone might be held to, and snarked or played with a little, here. Even a very HNG type of post will usually get a 'good luck with that' at worst, in introducations.

punisher440 -> RE: Goddess seeking Las Vegas Submissives (4/19/2012 6:58:47 PM)

Karmastic,if I am reading you right, you don't think there is one set of rules for each different forum? I know you haven't been here very long, but there are different rules in different forums.A few months back, some of the newbies were getting their britches set on fire in the Introduction forum, some with cause, others not so much.So the Admins cracked down.If you don't think there are different rules, try comparing the Introduction forum with the P & R forum....lol. But be warned, your skin better be a bit thicker in P & R than in the other forums.

tsatske -> RE: Goddess seeking Las Vegas Submissives (4/19/2012 7:04:19 PM)

this is why I don't go in the P&R forum. too much argumentitiveness. I like hearing about others religions and political views, but I like it done in an atmosphere of mutual respect. And, of course, it doesn't help that my own religion is almost universally attacked on certain websites, not just this one. My hometown website is one of them, and I'm willing to defend myself, gently, among my friends, there, but, here, I feel I'm just a pup, and should probably stay on the porch.

Mild snark is fine, but when it crosses the line, personal attack is what is is sometimes called. Those that have done that, have had their posts mauled.

Thank you for being a part of Collarme,

This topic is no longer in Introductions.

Have fun,

Bless you, Gamma. Sometimes you just have to let the cayuses (cayusi?) run roughshod around the corral a bit. And of all days I picked TODAY to be snark-free!![sm=doh.gif] (There's always tomorrow...I assume the thread will be here tomorrow...) [sm=evil.gif]

VideoAdminGamma -> RE: Goddess seeking Las Vegas Submissives (4/19/2012 8:09:04 PM)

A read of section guidelines will explain why it fit no other category. The OP is not a violation, but some of the replies have been.

If you ever have any questions you can always contact me. Most members will tell you I am very open to communication and assisting in understanding how things work.

Please reply privately if you have any questions.

Thank you,

As far as "hawking wares", there's two places this thread could have been moved. I wonder why it wasn't. I also wonder why if the original post was so offensive, why was it not deleted altogether?

So there is no confusion in the future, pay close attention. When I say have fun, I mean within TOS/Guidelines, and I do not care who you are. There is no special treatment. If you broke a rule and have helped me in the past with reports, and feel you should get special treatment because of that, then don't help.

As a side note to the prodomme-related thread you started, Privileged, one thing I've seen quite a bit in US-based BDSM is, "Prodommes are way better than those lowly, filthy whores." I find that attitude both emotionally ugly and tactically foolish. It sure would be nice to see a bit more "Sisterhood is Powerful" when a woman is using her body as her means to put food on the table.

I don't really get that thing about escorts, but again, I guess that's the European in me, I'm rather grateful that they are around, guys who are horny as hell and need to get laid can get laid in an easy way, they don't need to lie to women and pretend to be in love, they don't need to engage in date rape, for the price of a good dinner they can get laid for sure and with extras, possibly several times. The cops aren't wasting their time with victimless crimes, they've actually freed man power to go after people who force women into prostitution, you got the whole health check issue and it becomes a much less dangerous thing, and you cut out the crime surrounding prostitution - the drugs, the need for "protection", the fact that guys can rape them because they think they won't dare to report it...

Now if a woman doesn't mind being an escort, why should I mind? Wouldn't be my cup of tea but if it's alright for a woman, it's her business and hers alone, it's her body.

RedMagic1 -> RE: Goddess seeking Las Vegas Submissives (4/20/2012 6:42:00 AM)

Yes, LadyConstanze, I agree with you.
