I haven't read all the replies yet but, as someone needing to lose some more poundage, but having already lost some, I'll share. "Burn the fat, feed the muscle" It was the greatest book I'd ever read, not because it had any super secrets, but because it made me understand the inner functions of my body more clearly, not just how to make it shed pounds, but why it does what it does. There was no more mystery and guess work. I used what it taught me, and by maintaining my calorie intake and creating calorie defeciet through increased cardio workouts, I lost one pound every week as long as I kept it up. Sad part is, I didn't keep it up, life got in the way and I stopped my high intensity interval training, but I know with confidence the formula that works for me to lose weight in a healthy way and keep it off. (All the pounds I lost 6 months ago have not come back.) Also, I do have health issue which make me prone to keeping my weight or even gaining it, so for this book to have lead me to a winning formula so easily is saying something. However using it's methods does require reading, and macro-nutrient management, and keeping a bit of a food journal. On the matter of walking though, do it every day, or at least 5 days a week, and keep walking further, faster, until you feel up to jogging for 1 minute, then two.. always push your body to -more- activity, and you'll find exercising becomes a far more effective tool. If your level of fitness platueas, so will your weight.
