Considering the number of dominant men here who will write to women with a blank profile, or one that specifically says "not looking," why would you automatically assume that it was different for women?

are you being serious? you're comparing men responding to blank profiles with pictures of hot women to hot women responding to men's blank profiles with no picture?

i give women more credit than that.

While Lockit is right that scammers abound all over the net, the reality is that any site that is going to cater almost specifically to men looking to get laid (as in something called "sexsearch.com"), it is only natural that they will try to entice the horny guys into spending their hard earned cash.

So while you may not have completely filled out your profile, you do completely fit the description of a "horny guy" by the fact that you did initially go to the site in the hopes of getting laid.  Not completing your profile and then receiving messages is completely irrelevant.

literally lmao!

what's so funny is your prism that people with penises do all these things just to get laid, and a 180 shift in your prism if the person has a vagina. i'm sure every person is different. and the one's with vaginas who register for the site get similar fake inducements.

Yeah, right. That is why there are so many dudes selling their underwear and making money from masturbating on cam for women.

There is no difference in the males and females who are horny.

If you go to a website with the name sexsearch.com, and expect reality, you are gonna be disappointed most days. At least own it and don't whine like it was an unexpected thing.

oh, is that what you mean? when did i not own it? where was i surprised?

i hereby own that the site was bullshit (thought i said that up front, didn't i?).

i hereby own that i was not surprised.

i thought it was funny how they work.

no, what's funny is that YOU would subscribe to a site called "sexsearch.com" and then try to convince everyone that you were not trying to get laid.

There's nothing to be embarassed about. Wanting to get laid is a pretty common need in both men and women.

lmao! that's a lot of entertaining assumptions about why i created a blank profile, and then posted about it.

all kidding aside, the reason i created the profile was because it was "free" and i had time to waste and was curious. as soon as i registered, it looked like bullshit, so i let it sit.

cut to weeks later, and a bevy of beauties PMing a blank profile. i think that's funny, and posted about it.

now cut to entertaining assumptions.

What other assumptions is a person to make after reading your OP?

I do believe that you protest just a bit too much. [8|]

re getting laid - we're all ultimately trying to get laid, that doesn't say much. and i got over being embarrassed by that around the age of 13.

see bold red. you're agreeing with my sentiments, and not making it just about horny men.

re entertaining assumptions - i thought it was funny that you assumed i "only went there to be contacted by all the 'fakes' that are on the site." and that i cannot reply back to them without paying.

were you not trying to be entertaining?

You think that your conclusion about how they work is "funny". I am sure that they have many satisfied customers who would rave about how they found the fuck buddy(s) of their dreams.

There is nothing to show that the site is bullshit, except a few folks you think are fakes contacted you. Hell, there are fakes all over CM. Is this website fake?

Shit, maybe we are all fake.

Now I need to go roll one.

Karmastic -> RE: Fake dating sites (5/30/2012 6:59:32 PM)

remember, no pic, blank profile, but hot women PMing me. obvious fakes setup by the site to get me to pay to subscribe - something a "real" site like CM would never do.

i fergot to mention, me being the horny male willing to do anything to get laid - i did the same thing (registered, blank profile) for other free sex sites (*fake blushes*).

they didn't have such elaborate fake inducements. i didn't think my conclusion was funny - i must seem weird to you for thinking it was funny and thinking others would also be amused. chalk it up to my dry humor.

420 cheers :)

Now if you are truly an aficionado of fakes; follow these simple steps..

1> get a throwaway email address.. hotmail or whatever
2> Put an advert in your local Craigslist in the gender appropriate section for seeking another.
3> Include something like "Just won the lottery, who wants to help me celebrate?"
4> Watch the porn roll in with all sorts of goldigger offers.

Sometimes you can really laugh at the internet
Stefan

Thoughts on fake sites and the shit they pull?

Just one: think with the big head and you won't fall victim to sites like these.

Easy peasy.

A local morning radio bunch does this. They get as stupid as they can, stuff like "Call and moo like a cow for me and I will suck your dick", or "Call and tell me what you would do to me, in the accent of James Bond".

They play the audio responses they get. Effin hilarious stuff I tell ya.

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Fake dating sites (5/31/2012 11:42:57 AM)

That type of marketing strategy isn't much different than the one used by the Free Credit Report sites. Sure, you can sign up for free, but you won't get your complete credit report unless you pay.

Many sites that claim to be free, only offer minimal services: you have to pay for the rest.

I agree, it probably was fake profiles intended to entice you to open your wallet. Not the most ethical of business practices, but it doesn't make the site fake.
