i also have it - in my spine and elsewhere, but also mainly the spine. i have other spinal problems, too, but the arthritis is what is supposed to cause most of the pain... physical therapy is great for strengthening. massage or craniosacral work i've found are both good for pain relief. i've gone completely towards craniosacral work and find it helps to some extent, and sometimes has longer-lasting effects than massage. when i was in physical therapy, i was told i couldn't do a lot of regular exercises (such as certain kinds of ab or strength training exercises) because of my back...this was probably due to my other back problems, but i think that it would be good just to be careful what kind of regular exercise you are doing anyway, because you don't want anything to make things worse or put stress on it! i also find that breathing and relaxation exercises help somewhat because i have a lot of tension in my back, emotional and stress related, that aggravates the pain quite a bit. any tension can easily make things worse. i have had acupuncture in the past, and found it helped in the short term (like massage) to relieve some of the inflammation. that's pretty much all i know...i hope those suggestions help a bit :) right now due to financial reasons i'm not pursuing further methods of treatment, but i would love to hear about what other types of treatment you do end up doing, and how it works out for you! :) best of luck.
