You know what's funny? My daughter and I were at lunch one day and she said to me "I wish you would have forced me to do more things when I refused to do them and wish you would have punished me more and been more firmer with me. I think I would have turned out better for it.". I was just sat there with huge eyes and in shock! LOL, not that she's a terrible adult. Quite the opposite actually.
To me that said, hey if you're firmer and you punish your children when they deserve it, they just may turn out the better for it and when they are children, that may be exactly what they're crying out for with some of the things they do.
