REALLY? Actually, most men only have this concern the first time they purchase tampons. A bit like the first time with a woman, kinda scared, kinda unsure, kinda quicker than you thought it would be, but then it gets to be just something a man needs to do and can do without worry.

I don't see what the concern is with a guy buying tampons. When I've gone to get em in the past, it's not like the shopkeeper thinks they're for me. "Ok, he has a woman at home that can't get to the store for some reason or other." No big fuckin deal.

I've even had women in the past who were home sick as a dog and hesitant to ask me to pick em up. I'm like "What the fuck honey, You cant get out of the house and I dont want you bleeding all over the damn place. Just tell me the damn brand and size and I'll get em."

ETA, I guess theres actually 2 guys in the country that have no prob buying Tampons.

As for myself, I like to get things that I need, so the enterprise is more about procurement, even at Lowe's or a sporting goods store. I did go through a phase of oggling HD TVs when they came out. I ended up buying a 32" Sharp TV online that was refurbished.

I'm glad not to be addicted to shopping, b/c it could be an affliction of envy and material neediness.

I do like the image of you in Lowe's, though, that is cool.

I do have some actual experience with public humiliation, it's so mortifying and scarey that I can say I don't like it or seek it out. In the abstract, its kind of sexy. In a way its a form of degradation, and I've never been into that.

Yes, I am 'purchase' rahter than 'shop', it's unusual for me to just go out and look at things these days. It's sooo hard to not go down those other aisles of dremel parts and storage devices...

ROFL .. one time, some female describing herself on CM as a Domme, wanted to go to Walmart after a cheap, first date at a location that she picked ... she then got to the checkout line with one hunderd dollars of paint; and expected me to pay for it! More ROFL ...

She never saw me again ...

My ex D wouldn't even borrow my MP3 player because it is pink (a wise color choice on my part.) NO WAY would I have asked him to pick up tampons. In our 18 years of marriage, I'm sure my ex-husband did, however. I think M has too.

Prices on everything have risen hugely ... why I can't even go to the grocery store ... without sticker shock!, either

Honestly, i try to get to the local Krogers right at markdown time ... and grab the marked down meat and sea food for dinner that night!

There is pretty much nothing about shopping that I like, and the thought of browsing is just anathema to me. Crowds, queues, parting with money - DO NOT WANT. I become a walking Scottish stereotype. Maybe I should make Psycho do all my shopping :ponders:
