ORIGINAL: NiceButMeanGirl I'm sure the gluteus maximus muscle goes right across the butt cheeks. Yes. But if memory serves, it is covered by a fairly thick layer of fat and connective tissues. That said, if you have a better suggestion for a "least damage potential" location, feel free to make the suggestion. Breasts don't have anything one can't do without, and have decent circulation, but I have no idea whether the drainage is such that one is able to avoid blood clots and the like (the return flow from the buttocks will pass through the kidneys and lungs, if memory serves, which generally means any clots will stop there instead of moving on to somewhere even more dangerous). Also, although the glandular tissues in the breast are mirrored and only crucial to breastfeeding, that's a very visible location to have a brand, particularly one that has been bungled, and infections have a shorter distance to spread to vital tissues. Hence my best guess at the buttocks. It's still just a guess, though. IWYW, — Aswad.
