Okay on the quitting the Republican thing....lol,it never felt like me anyway.

The new surgeon thing is a must,I am not letting the same guy who didn't do it successfully do it again.
This is one "apple" you don't get two bites at,you cut me you better fix me.
My GP will have to give me a referral ....Medicare is going to love that I needed two surgeries to fix one fucking hernia.
My only worry is that this will be the same GP who advised me to wait on getting it fixed in the first place !
Than there is the methadone issue,I will not have surgery and continue with this pain medication...not looking to bust it open again.
Fuck this sucks

p.s.Most of those extra posts of yours probably occurred while I was taking 2 week"vacations"...god knows I took enough of them....lol

Do you have a copy of what procedure he actually did? Did the surgeon do the hernia repair with mesh? If it was done with mesh, it's slightly more unlikely that you have another hernia, unless you now have an incisional hernia (pocket of fat gets caught in the incision line when they staple it). Post operative swelling and healing takes a complete 12 months to heal, so he is right in that there will still be some swelling.

I would definitely talk to your GP about the issue, see what he thinks and whether you need a second surgical opinion. If you see a second surgeon, I would see if they are willing to liaise with your pain management specialist for if/when you need another surgery. It might be worthwhile also talking to your pain management specialist about the bowel issue - they might be able to recommend a regime to ensure things are working the way they should to minimise any extra stress on your abdominal wall. In the meantime though - walking and plenty of water intake will help. And no pushing/straining.

Edited to add: Sometimes during hernia repairs, a thing called a 'seroma' can develop - I think this needs to be ruled out first and foremost. Your GP should be able to determine whether they think this is it. See if they can send you for an ultrasound of the area.

Okay,I feel like a putz. Now keep in mind I am back to the Doctor who told me to walk around with the hernia in the first place...but he say's i am healing fine.
He explained that yes I can still feel the hernia, and yes when things get backed up(more on that later)I will have pain issues....but the hernia is,according to his examination in the correct position and most definitely behind the mesh placed there.
So than we got to the meat of the matter,we discussed my bathroom issues,he agree this is probably how I got the hernia in the first place, basically I am anestitising (sp ? fuck it)my bowels as I deal with my pain.
So now we have added a new regimen to my daily morning wake-up meds....lol
Hopefully this is the last you good folks will hear of my hernia...and my bathroom issues
I do apologize to all for having bored you all to death

Mike, I have to deal with bathroom issues on top of the lovely bipolar. Yes, I cuss myself out when I have an episode. Mom has to cover her ears because I "offend" her. She won't admit that she does the same thing...(pagan living in a Christian house...LOL!)

It takes time to recover from the surgery. Do a follow up with the surgeon if you have any questions. I am going to ask my regular doctor to get me back in touch with the doctor who did the colonscopy years ago and I had a blood relative die from colon cancer years ago.

I hate IBS attacks...
