I was thinking.....

god's gospel according to BenM says that god created everything and is all-knowing.

Well nobody is ever that perfect - not even god.

So I'm thinking that all the crap and rejects that got thrown onto the floor after god made everyone and everything else, got swept up and moulded into BenM.
Such an epitomy of everything that shouldn't be.

An epitome of everything that can't be, yet is. "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased." Luke 2:14

You speak as if I have never touched you.

And you haven't.  I would have you arrested for child molestation.

Do you also mock those who pay taxes?

What is it about sex that entices people to worship Satan?

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/15/2012 12:30:49 PM)

Is the cause metaphysical or does it have its origins in how the brain is organized?

Romney is indeed a Christian and for this I praise him.

He's a Mormon. I don't consider Mormons Christians because they are polytheists.

You need to learn before you speak. My Master is a Mormon. They are indeed Christians and are NOT polytheists. They believe in the same God other Christian denominations do and they believe Jesus is the son of said God.

Not sure if anyone said this to you yet or not, because I didn't read all 13 pages of ignorant comments, but just wanted to let you know that you are wrong :)

It has been long known that strong emotions often clouds judgement. The brain is compartmentalized. There is an important region relating to animal drives, but it is distinct from those regions that pertain to the capacity to reason or relate to others. Unresolved emotions especially strong ones that are yet unintegrated result in a kind of ill health I suppose much like some argue that disruptions in the flow of the life force in the body may cause disease. The R-complex for Reptilian brain may be the most robust.

Can these words also be given a Christian interpretation?

No, they can't.
Fucking up the moment in the hope of a possible reward is what Christianity is all about.
(It'd be a lot more tolerable if Christians were content to keep this moral parsimony to themselves, instead of trying to spoil everybody else's fun, mind.)

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/15/2012 12:49:29 PM)

In the absence of reason extreme positions become the norm because extreme positions are simple and are appealing to the R-complex due to its lack of sophistication.

No, I don't.

But I will mock those that are so blind they cannot see beyond their tiny little confined box.

And WTF has your question got to do with my quote, huh??

You are sooo asinine BenM.

And the only reason you got your 'Evil' ranking (quite apt I thought) is because you make a gazillion vaccuous and inane single-line comments instead of something quite constructive in a sensible post.

I have not seen a single half-sensible or productive post from you at all.

This is the position that I believe the Russian Orthodox Church took. It decided to stay out of politics, not to say that it had a choice.

Should the Church impose its views on those outside of the faith? One reason why it is necessary is because none of us live in a vacuum. Everything is interconnected and the world has become increasingly interconnected. Everything effects everything else. The Church is a part of the wider community.

Iran through poverty has reduced its surface area; thus, exposure to hazards. Because the Church is a part of the community it does not have this luxury. It cannot reduce its surface area in the same way a nation can. Nations have clearly defined boundaries.

Could hypermorality be what the R-complex interprets morality as? Does the R-complex not see morality as the punisher? An instrument of punishment instead of a standard of correct behavior.

I don't know, maybe it is as extreme as lasagne.

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/15/2012 2:41:29 PM)

Satan has found a place on the Internet. Relationships are too symmetric. In such a place Satan thrives. Notice that I'm not talking about sex per se. I wondered why the Internet did not enter into existence earlier than it did.
