ORIGINAL: PeonForHer I read on another forum, recently, that women view men pretty much like people view dogs. That is, that men are big, smelly, rough and simple. Is this correct? Seriously, I sometimes look at women and think, 'How do you see us? If we men see you women as kind of squealy, twittery and prim, do you see we men as like large, coarse and a bit less than human?' OK, the bottom line is: I *know* how I see females. But, really, I haven't a frigging clue how females see me, or see men in general. I see men as the opposite of me. Masculine versus feminine. Big and rough is okay with me. Smelly...eh...depends on the smell. Simple? No. And I think those women who might think men, as a rule, are simple are just taking a simplistic (and self-centered) view themselves. For example, my mother (andyesIloveherbut...) was telling a few of us over Christmas that she had colored her hair and cut her bangs and her boyfriend didn't even notice. Then she proceeded to call men "dense." Several other women at the table agreed. But, men are simply not going to notice every time we pluck a hair. It certainly is not indicative of their power to think and reason. It's just not on their radar. And those women at the table were judging these men because they weren't acting in the manner that they would have with each other. (Although, to be honest, I didn't notice my mother's hair, either, so...I'm with her dense boyfriend.) quote:
But a plate of spag bol won't complain about your belching after eating it, nor will it ask 'what are you thinking?' Insert my own eye roll here. I do not ask that question of the man in my life. He will tell me if he wants me to know. Questions I don't ask men: How do I look? What are you thinking? Do you love me? Ick. Gag.
