I'm told he's actually a dickhead wanker of tiny proportions: why do you think his wife always has that bitchface sulk on her?

Tazzy, just because a SC decision might uphold a ban doesn't make it constitutional. 4 of the justices would uphold a ban I'm afraid. From what I can tell as of now though, gun control measures being proposed are highly unlikely to make it into law.

I went back to find out about the California issue.

We spoke with Nathan Barankin, Director of Communications for the California Attorney General office, who informed us that this recent SKS gun ban issue arises from an unresolved legal definition. California was one of the first states to pass a ban on so-called "assault weapons," which included the SKS rifle -- but only if the rifle had a detachable magazine. Rifles with fixed, non-removable magazines were exempt from this confiscation order, but those with removable magazine had to be recorded ("registered") and turned over to government authorities.

Many owners of fixed-magazine SKS rifles later converted them to removable-magazine models. At the time, the Attorney General (who is not the current AG) wrote a letter to these gun owners assuring them that these rifles were perfectly legal and not subject to the gun confiscation order.

In 1996, a man owning one of these converted rifles was arrested in Santa Clara County and prosecuted by the District Attorney for possessing an illegal firearm. The case wound its way to the state Supreme Court where a decision was finally handed down: yes, indeed, these rifles are illegal, the court said.

This ruling created instant criminals. Barankin told Y2KNEWSWIRE, "So what we had in 1997 was, by judicial ruling, a law that says all these people who had been informed that these weapons were legal were now suddenly felons."

I will wait for you to read this because I have many more questions.

I typed in exactly that, among other things. No sign of your bogus figures to be seen.

As always, I wont hold my breath for an explaination. However, it is dishonest if you constantly make claims about stuff you have read, yet suddenly cant produce a link whenever asked.

The SKS in CA became illegal because they were declared assualt weapons after the deadline,to register and keep them had passed. If you had registered one, it was still legal to own.

The SKS is complex in CA because some are grandfathered in,as "curios and relics" and, have to,have a bayonet attached, other identicle guns are illegal with a bayonet.

So, same gun has about five classifications, legally, many that, you cant telk simply by looking at the gun.

Despite what the link says, they were not converted to detachable mags, as they, have a semi fixed mag but someine made a 20 round mag instead of the, stock 10 rounder.

Cant you be sent to the tower of London for not drinking tea? Or is that just some internet rumor?

Actually during the summer I drink ice tea, only drink coffee in the winter, and it is cooked in a peculator type pot on a wood stove that we use to cut the heating bill.

I called your 3.5 figure bullshit back in the gun control thread, I called on your figures and asked for links back on page 13
You obfuscated and back pedalled, you cannot back up your blatherings with links or facts, and its MY JOB to do it??? well guess what, I did...
Now call me irrational or a good girl or some brow soothing back handed compliment, or make another excuse as to why you cant fact out your BS and stop blaming Tazzy and I for your lousy facts.
If you cant back up your claims and "cant remember" you will understand why you get any credibility points.
You are not coming from a place of actual verifiable information.

Im finding conflicting information. Were these bought back or not? I saw where reimbursement was made for the registration, as it should have been.

Also, were they not made illegal because of the detachable magazine? It sounds like many guns were fixed to prevent that. I am assuming they mean the fast type of removal as opposed to taking a while to slide a pin in or an allen wrench.

How many other guns did this affect? I cant find others that were treated similarly.

And, how is this the same as any other country? All along, in many of these debates, we have heard the cry of states being allowed to make their own decisions. Do you disagree with that now?

I think you have misinterpreted Bamas postings. The fact is he can't spell, doesn't or doesn't know how to use spell check, can't type worth a crap and doesn't know how to use the backspace button, his posting are full of typos, he cant copy and paste and he admits he's virtually computer illiterate, maybe he meant 5.3 or 35.5, I don't know but generally when he talks specifics about guns (in the physical sense) he is correct assuming you can interpret what is being said.

No offense Bama, I'm on your side but sometimes its hard to make out what you're trying to convey. I'm trying to help you out here. If I could I would show you how to do these things. Find some one to help you set up your spell check and learn the copy and paste function to post a web site for reference. It's simple actually, you can google for a tutorial too. Also stay away from debating statistics with these two, they are relentless and they'll have you jumping through hoops trying to keep up. I know first hand.
