Toppingfrmbottom -> How come he starts snoring mega loud in minutes of being asleep? (1/12/2013 2:56:25 AM)

He is a side sleeper, and changing positions or none of that helps, so we dont need those suggesyions. he is supposed to go for a sleep study but keeps forgetting to call:/

He has snored horribly for years but some nights we kiss say good night and insyantly hes snoring like a old chain saw, where as some nights it takes longer to snore at all.

When we first met he snored all the time, then thank god when we moved in he stopped, nothing in our lives had changed, same, no health issurs got betyer, no weightloss no nothing. Yjen ahain nothing changed but he started snoring ahain.

I know he prolly has sleep apnea, it would not surprise me.

Sleep apnea is when breathing stops and then starts up again, in fits and starts. It results in irritability, sleepiness, low energy, all the classic depression symptoms. Snoring is a gateway to that, but snoring alone does not indicate apnea.

He keeps forgetting to call? Does he understand that apnea can be corrected non-surgically, and lead to a better, more energetic life? Am I missing something?

Yup. Hes got so many other things hes focusing on and trying to remember that it slips his mind. He tends to not be very reliable at remembering things.

Have him put his appointments and reminders on his phone.

Lynnxz -> RE: How come he starts snoring mega loud in minutes of being asleep? (1/12/2013 8:31:18 AM)

Really, I've noticed that some men will kick and drag their feet about anything healthcare related. My SO is so bad that I do anything minor, including stitches and burn care at the house.

Make him an appointment. While on the phone with the doc office, make sure he's got that day/time free.

Drive him to the appointment.

Seriously.

Yes, he drags his feet , theres a bit of that.

I dont drive, never learned so I have no liscence, and if I did he would still have to call.

So ill pester him till he calls I guess.

Men usually snore loudest when lying on their backs because their balls fall over their assholes causing a vapor lock.

I am glad I am alone in here, people would not be amused at my busting out laughing over that.

I snore so loud I have to have my own bedroom.
If your partner has the medical coverage for it please try to gently remind. I wish I would get covered for a c-pap or sleep study of sorts. It really does affect rest and intimacy levels. No one wants to spoon with someone snoring right in the ear :(

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: How come he starts snoring mega loud in minutes of being asleep? (1/13/2013 7:04:46 PM)

I get mad at him when he spends 6 hours strait snoring. I know he can't help the snoring but he can help refusing to go do his sleep study. if it was important enough to him he'd remmeber to make that call, but it's really low on his priorities. I remind him every week for the last 7 months almost.

they have dental moouth gaurd thingies that are supposed to stop sleep apnea and severe snoreing, check into that, it may be cheaper and easier attained than aCPAP/

usually it's because they are overweight.

It could also be sleep apnea or he could have a problem with his sinuses but I'm going to bet there's a 95% chance he needs to lose weight.

ETA: If he is a heavy drinker it can also cause it as well.

My husband snored like a freight train. Turns out he had to have an operation on his sinuses and during that time they found out he had sleep apnea as well. It's genetic in his family. Both his grandfather and father have it. Combine all of that with heavy drinking and you got yourself a noise that will wake the dead.

But the majority of people I know in person snore because of weight issues.

two more treatments....

sleep on the couch like I did...

or throw a pillow over his face and try, really hard, not to smother him. It's tempting I know. [:D]

I do this every night, if that doesn't. Work, I do the elbow jab, the shake, then finally the " turn on your side baby".....still snores. And if that isn't enough, our pit bull Pinky is snoring like a grown man as well. I can't win for losing [&o]

been there, done that.. after splitting with my snorey ex.. one of the early questions i ask any prospective guys is "Do you snore?".. its a deal breaker for me, especially if the guy wont do anything about it.. I also lose interest if the guy is a drinker (that would make my ex's snoring worse).. I want the only thing waking me up in the middle of the night to be his hard cock.. [8D] [:)]

mnottertail -> RE: How come he starts snoring mega loud in minutes of being asleep? (1/14/2013 10:32:16 AM)
