I am soooo glad Master doesn't snore. If I had found out he does I don't know if I could have done another relationship with someone like that again. I can take talking or even walking in your sleep....my daughter did that, but snoring again? Noooooooo. Hell no! LOL

I swear there were times I just wanted to slap the shit outta my husband with his snoring. [8D]

two more treatments....

sleep on the couch like I did...

or throw a pillow over his face and try, really hard, not to smother him. It's tempting I know. [:D]

Fuck...I amost did BOTH last night myself.
Mr gets Himself snoring so loudly that it peels the paint off the wals and shakes the windows.
The nights that it bothers me the most are when He stops breathing and then gasps for air a few seconds later...those are the nights that wake me up, like last night. I told Him if He didn't fucking roll over so He could breathe on His own (when He complained that I WOKE HIM) I would smother Him my damned self...then I collected my pillows and fixed up the couch. The rest of my night was silent bliss.
*grumble* Man it pisses me off when He bitches that I woke Him up.

Sounds like he needs a CPAP machine for sleep apnea.

My husband will snore really loud if he is overtired. I play with his mustache or poke him, if it is really loud I will plug his nose and he will turn over.

Now I just wish dealing with his occasional sweating was that easy. There are times he will throw his arm over me and he will be soaked. Ewe. Thankfully that is not all the time either.

Sleep apnea is when breathing stops and then starts up again, in fits and starts. It results in irritability, sleepiness, low energy, all the classic depression symptoms. Snoring is a gateway to that, but snoring alone does not indicate apnea.

He keeps forgetting to call? Does he understand that apnea can be corrected non-surgically, and lead to a better, more energetic life? Am I missing something?

I've had sleep apnea ever since I was a kid, my mother would hear me stop breathing and start again. As it turns out, I wasn't diagnosed until a few years ago.

Now I have a CPAP machine. CPAP means Continuous Positive Airway Pressure and it makes all the difference in the world in how I feel. Even if I stop breathing during the night, the machine "forces" air into my breathing passages via the attached mask to make sure I get sufficent oxygen during the night. AND, if he gets a CPAP prescription, he may stop snoring when he uses the CPAP machine. I snore like a buzz saw if I'm not using mine for some reason but, if I am using it, I sleep like a baby and don't make a sound.

He really really should get his butt in gear and get a sleep study. The person sleeps in a comfy bed in a room with UV lights. When the regular lights are off and he's "in the dark," the sleep technician can still see in the camera with the UV lights. The person is also hooked up to electrodes that keep track of muscle movements during the night. It's really a totally painless test. TOTALLY painless. Easy peasy.

With serious sleep apnea it can literally make the difference between life and death, and I'm not being dramatic about that.

My husband's co worker claimed his wife got pregnant in his sleep. Said she attacked him. I tried that, nope he was wide awake instantly.

I tried that several times with my ex too.. he would wake up and throw me off!!! [>:] Then he would roll over on his tummy so I couldn't get to it again.. [:(]

I have sleep apnea as well but with me losing about 75 pounds, I was weaned off the C-PAP. I hated that thing anyway. Mom says that I still snore but I am not too worried about it. If I do stop breathing, I wake myself up and walk around the trailer.

I suggest getting an iron skillet and bonk him on the head with it. Sleep apnea can be a bitch but with the right doctors and machines can be treated.

I wanted to mention that in my post but I didn't want to scare her or anyone else with it who might not know that. My grandfather-in-law died from complications situated with it.

Has he been checked out for sleep apnea?

sarzyness -> RE: How come he starts snoring mega loud in minutes of being asleep? (1/15/2013 3:33:39 AM)

my bf had something like this.

it does sound like sleep apnea, and he was given a cpap machine to keep his throat open whilst he slept, its worked really well.

He did have it for years before he got round to havign the sleep study.... which i could kick myself for because i didnt really consider the long term health effects.

Because he is snoring, is likely his body isnt getting enough oxygen when he sleeps, which means his heart has to work alot faster to get more oxygen, so one of the long term effects is heart failiure.

Just bite the bullet, get the apt and get a solution, then it will all be sorted!

I didn't snore all that loudly, but my sweetie told me that i stopped breathing in my sleep - so off to the sleep lab i went. I ended up with mild sleep apnea and periodic limb movement. I've had my cpap for about a month now and LOVE it.

I don't walk around work yawning my head off. Most nights i don't have to get up and pee . I don't remember waking most night. I actually have energy after work - i clean the kitchen , and the house, and cook and do all those things i just didn't have the energy for. Heck, last night i cleaned the parrots cage. Go me!

So , if you snore, and seem to be tired all the time - get thee to a sleep lab! [:D]

Depending on the provider, after the sleep study, if he is found to have sleep apnea, he will be assigned a C-PAP machine.

I recommend getting a hat to wear after the sleep study. The gunk they use for the study will make your hair stand up and stiff until you wash it.
