As it say "You needn't be ashamed", sound like common ground and fun to me[sm=yahoo.gif]

the one line in your post Kirata conveniently deleted...

I quoted the part of his post I was responding to, just like I'm omitting your "snake" comment here.

Editing to change context is not "quoting" (nor is it para-phrasing), not even when you're so very well practised at it.

And you don't like my snake metaphor? Got lotsa snakes in Oz, some with very short fuses - it helps to know the difference....

Sure does....

The thread topic (common ground) has its genesis from guns. So I'm gonna naturally assume you, Kirata and Hillwilliam are Americans since all your contributions here have been drive-bys - presumably a legitimate form of gun use in the US.

Don't s'pose any of you actually has an original thought on topic that doesn't rely on leeching off the opinions of others? [:-]

It also has its genesis in the mind of a forum contributor who uses, as one of his taglines, the words:

"The ordinary Britisher imagines that God is an Englishman ".

Leaving aside the fact that "Britisher" isn't a word in British English - why would Britons other than the English - like the Scots and Welsh - imagine that God is English?

To those who want to remind us non-Americans not to be lazy about the basics of the USA - like its Constitution - a handy tip: not every Briton is English.

Given your world reknown lack of solar events; your drizzles; your London fog, I can only surmise that there may be three or four about at Amesbury, at the giants dance, on any given winter (or summer) solstice.

So not a worry this side of the pond, mate.

PeonForHer -> RE: In an effort to find some common ground. (2/7/2013 1:55:56 PM)

Maybe, but at least our sun is a *British* sun. [;)]

The Picts and Bluemen will come at night as ghosties and haunt you for that one, old cheese.  The sun never sets and all that.....

Since the poster I was responding to had previously dragged the thread off on that subject,I responded in kind...but given your history of ignoring the obvious I wouldn't expect you to understand that.My thoughts on this subject[guns] have been posted in this and several other threads. My main thought on this subject is I am not mettling in your affairs over in Oz,so I can not see why what we do over here matters a hill of beans to you over there.Seems like you have enough to worry about over there instead of trying to tell us how to run our country.

Then lucky for you that poster didn't decide to jump in front of a speeding truck instead, ay!

This subject is not "guns". And your "thoughts" were a couple of captioned pics - are they even *your* original pics?

Then why are you even here? Surely you're not some sorta mindless sheep? <gasp> Anyway, cultural differences is precisely what this topic is about. But since you mention it, meddling in the affairs of foreign nations absolutely IS the *American* way - you can only dish it out?

This very post, actually - pretty much perpetuates all your other "contributions" here.

Asswipe.

Anyway, cultural differences is precisely what this topic is about.

Following that thought, this from Australia:

Australian Kids Face Birthday Candle Ban to Prevent Spreading Germs

Australian children are to be banned from blowing out candles on birthday cakes under new hygiene regulations... But Australian doctors say the guidelines go too far, noting how exposure to bacteria is essential for the development of a healthy immune system.

AMA president Steve Hambleton told News Ltd... “It’s normal and healthy to be exposed to a certain amount of environmental antigens that build up our immune systems. If you live in a plastic bubble you’re going to get infections [later on] that you can’t handle.”

Different topic, same mentality: Ignore the facts, we have to save the children!
