you better re check your links the Total Crime shows the US at number #1 with 11, 877, 218

The detail you fail to realize in citing those numbers is that not all countries are the same size.

That is on a per capita bases so it petty much equal...

Oh, I see... 11,877,218 crimes per capita in the U.S.

Yes, that's shocking. I stand corrected.

K.

doesn't that mean that each person in the U S is the victim of over 11,000 crimes a year?

epiphiny43 -> RE: In an effort to find some common ground. (2/6/2013 12:48:28 AM)

Do people wear math illiteracy as a badge? (Not BamaD's tongue in cheek)
The UK has considerably more property and personal injury crime, the US has more murder. Subtract the drug gangs killing each other and that difference halves. We still 'win'.

No, it means each person in the U.S. endures over 11 million crimes a year. Though, of course, if you count every single one of the fuckheaded posts in some of these threads, I suppose it's possible. If only society had a "Hide" function, eh?

"Ha, sucker, you can't mug me! I have you hidden!"

Maybe we should all have "Gun free zone" tattoed on our foreheads then bad guys couldn't come after us with guns. Several people have made it clear that if the bad guy doesn't have a gun he can't hurt you.

PeonForHer -> RE: In an effort to find some common ground. (2/6/2013 3:02:17 AM)

FR

It seems those figures do indeed refer to crime per 100,000 people. The USA is top of the list:

"Asia even though not that economically sound is far safer as compared to the ten countries listed on this map United States with 11,877,218 is the most unsafe country in this list while India, with 1,764,630 is the safest. "

Lucky us!
For assaults, the UK ranks 2nd in the world, the U.S. ranks 9th; for rape, the UK ranks 6th, the U.S. 13th; and for total crime victims the UK ranks 3rd, the U.S. 15th.

Really?? you better re check your links the Total Crime shows the US at number #1 with 11, 877, 218 and the UK at #2 with a total of 6,523, 706. Then there is the UNDOC report for 2012 that shows the US crime rate at 4.8 per 100, 000 and the UK at 1.2 per 100,000
http://www.nationmaster.com/red/graph/cri_tot_cri-crime-total-crimes&b_map=1

Did you bother to read the "definitions" in any of the links?

That was pulled from yours, Nosathro, though it also appears in the ones from Kirata.

You would think that someone who is such a great statistician would be able to take total crimes and divide by population to determine crimes/unit population.[8|]

If you had read my post you would have notice I was stating the link that Kirata had posted "Total Crime Victims by Country". I did also show referrence the UN report.

No they didn't.

Here's your link http://www.nationmaster.com/red/graph/cri_tot_cri-crime-total-crimes&b_map=1

It says "Crime Statistics > Total crimes (most recent) by country"

TOTAL CRIMES, not crimes per unit population

You can't even interpret a fucking chart, much less a graph.

The links are fine, thank you. The detail you fail to realize in citing those numbers is that not all countries are the same size.

Shocking, I know. But honest, it's true.

Nosathro, this is your "per capita" statistical comparison (post #155):

"Then there is the UNDOC report for 2012 that shows the US crime rate at 4.8 per 100, 000 and the UK at 1.2 per 100,000".

It's also the one line in your post Kirata conveniently deleted (post #156) before smugly declaring "The detail you fail to realize in citing those numbers is that not all countries are the same size."

Mate, if you're gonna mess with snakes, you need to know their ways. At the very least, keep your eyes open, cos now you've got a blood-sniffing bandwagon joining in ta boot...!

It's none of anyone's business whether Im here.
You are the one who claimed to have A's in statistics
Is that a lie?

You are the one who claimed miltiple graduate degrees. Is that a lie?

I did not claim anywhere to have read all the books of Gor.

Therefore, your statement " And now you claim to have read all 32 books of Gor..."
is a fucking lie.

Someone here isn't telling the truth and it isn't me boy.

Are you going to tell any more lies boy?

My advice is to leave the adults and go back to your dress up games.

Otherwise, accurate as usual.
