I was starting to think kidney stone when you said she had crippling pain after finishing the antibiotics for a bladder infection. Frankly, the doctor should have found white blood cells in her urine the first time, since it is one of the things they look for in a urinalysis. White blood cells indicate infection. With a kidney stone, they will typically find red blood cells. The first time I had kidney stones, the ER kept looking for a "female" reason for my pain. The cramps and the pain are indicative of so many female problems. For most people, she will have excruciating pain, but pass the stone. Then she really needs to adjust her diet. Soda should be a very infrequent treat. Salt is very bad. Cranberry juice is NOT a preventative for kidney stones. It is for basic bladder health. For kidney stones, lemonade (not the powdered stuff in a can) is the one of the best preventatives. Squeezing lemon in water, or making fresh lemonade using real lemons is good. For me, making fresh lemonade is too much work, lol. I will squeeze fresh lemon (or lime) into my water, and I buy "Simply Lemonade." The "Simply" line does orange juice, limeade, lemonade, and I think a couple of other things. But it is fresh lemonade found in the refrigerated section section and is lemons, water and sugar. No preservatives, completely natural.
