thanks for the info. I'd always found that taking cal/mag with Vit D helped with menstrual cramps and with restless legs/leg cramps at night. Maybe it was the vit. D that helped!
LilSquaw definately increase water intake. It flushes the lactic acid out of the body

lmpishlilhellcat,
We did tweak and change my vitamins and supplement as well as my protein intake.
I picked up some epsom salt that worked wonders as well.

BlkTallFullfig,
I do take Advil when I need it, for pain and such.
However, I don't like taking it often. I did the past couple of days though due to the horrible cramps.

Midol never worked for me for menstrual cramps, which like I said are new.

I completely forgot about protein. I eat high protein, just because it's what my body needs. I very rarely get sore after workouts anymore. It's kinda sad. Although squats still get me!!

Increased water consumption, potassium, vit D, calcium, heat and stretching during and after the workout. Stretching cold muscles isn't the best idea, but keep a feeler on your muscles as you're cooling down, and stretch anything that feels like it's getting tight.

As for heat, we use corn bags in my family. Pour some field corn into a cloth sack (Got sewing machine?) and sew it shut. When you want some heat, nuke it and put it where you need it. Be careful to not cook it too long, it can get really hot.

And just because it worked for you, doesn't mean it will (or ought to) work for everyone.

Ron, I'm gonna try that along with all these other suggestions. I die once a month.
