Did you know it is believed that between 10 & 20 % of the adult population in the UK has a serious form of personality disorder ( cluster B type)

That equates to between 5 and 10 million people

Many of those will use internet dating sites such as this one !

In most cases this will not impact on those who dont have any such disorder and so can be ignored.

It is not until your are romantically involved or related to someone with such disorders does it then become a serious problem

The effects of being in such relationships can be very damaging leading to Stockholm syndrome & PTSD

All those who use these sites should do there home work and learn to spot the warning signs of people suffering from cluster B personality disorders

It sounds like it's a personal issue with you dude.

I'm quite aware of my healthy relationship with a wonderful man that I met right here.

If you're having problems with meeting women, I would look at your own issues.

You would be surprised as to how many of us only date healthy partners. If you are attracted to the unhealthy ones, that indicates a problem with you. Get help fixing it and it shouldn't be a problem in the future.

Yeah, I have no idea. Ok.

Dude, I'd say you don't really have a clue. Here's the thing...when I was choosing partners that were all the same types, I stopped and asked myself why I was doing so.

And guess what? I now have a wonderful man in my life.

I couldn't find a study that listed the percentages in the UK, but the one I did find for the US had a similar percentage listed (14.8). The difference was that their percentage was of those people that 'meet standard diagnostic criteria for at least one personality disorder as defined in the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-Fourth Edition.' Not necessarily a serious case, as you claimed.

For that matter, the cluster B type disorders are only a fraction of personality dissorders in general, so the number would be even smaller.

I'm not sure what you are trying to get at with your numbers. I do know that diagnostically, we are defining more disorders, so the number of people that fall under those classifications is rising, simply because they now qualify, whereas previously it would have been brushed off as a quirk of theirs (for the less than serious cases).

If you aren't capable of dealing with someone with a disorder, then stop dating people with disorders.

No, I don't have a personality disorder. I'm fourth generation mood disorder. I have an enormous knowledge of such traits. Because I got help becoming the healthiest person I could. As such I am no longer attracted to people who don't get help.

If you have a personality disorder, then get treatment. It exists. Many such people, who get help, live happy and productive lives. Those who refuse to recognize and admit that they have problems do not. Your choice as to which camp you wish to be in.
