MyCaptainsPet -> Was this sub space??? (6/22/2006 4:16:09 PM)

i can honestly say i've never experienced anything like this....

We had a 3 sum last night.. very intense where i was the center of  attention for two men..(one being my C)

After a few dozen.. yes.. a FEW dozen orgasms i kind of blacked out and can't remember a block of time... about 5 hours or so... i can see bits and peices of different things.. but nothing concrete...

i should also mention that during this time i can only remember being COLD and being brought into the shower to warm up... no.. i was never left alone and no one who was there can remember me being any different...

anyone ever experince this?? was i in sub space or just go into shock after having so many o's???

slavejali -> RE: Was this sub space??? (6/22/2006 4:28:38 PM)

Coldness is a symptom of shock, I often wonder about the term *subspace* in various scenario's, if its an altered state of reality or whether its a repercussion of the body being traumatised in some way (in other words shock).

basically what I'm saying is, "I dont know" ...but those were my thoughts on your topic.

Addition: Sounded like one hell of a night [:)] Happy for you

I have been in sub-space, it's more of a  by-prduct not the end product of the play I expereince with my Top.There are little bits and peices of the play I  misplace but never such a huge block of time.
what you are describing  is pretty much text book shock symptoms, which is not a good thing.

If you are dusting off the harlequin romances today, it might be subspace.

Subspace can take on aspects of heavy concentration ala  hypnosis and  you can  concentrate so hard you lose yourself.

Whatever, if you blacked out, it wasn't your everyday kinda jizz squirt, I'd imagine.

You know what you did, can you do it again?

LOL

I took first aid 2 smemsters ago in school (yes i am certified) and it sounds like you went into shock.  If you did just to be on the safe side i would go to the dr for a physical make sure you are ok.  I am sure you are but always better to be safe.  5 hours is a long time sub space (at least for me) does not last that long.  Hope all is well.

That is the thing about "shock" and "subspace"... sometimes the differences is really not that different.

MichMasochist -> RE: Was this sub space??? (6/22/2006 5:34:46 PM)

I really don't think what you experianced was what BDSMers call sub-space.

In my experience sub-space is attained thru repeated strokes of a cat-of-nine-tails on both my back and bottom.  The strokes have to be my mistress' best, another words we are not talking light play.  After a few such strokes the human neural cortex, brain, starts to release endorphins, addrinalin, epinephrin, to name a few, as part of the "fight or flight response mechanism".  After a while my body gets warmly fuzzy.  If mistress continues I loose the ability to vocalize speech, so "safe-wording" becomes impossible.  At this point most masochist, my self included, will not want the domme to stop.  Some will even become quite upset if someone interferres with the mistress, ending the activites too early.  This is were a quality domme will exercise good judgement and self restraint as to safe-word, stop the action, herself.  If the activities continue very short term loss of vission does occure and I start to float or even to fly.  I'd imagine this to be like an out of body experience.

Other masochists describe subspace as a very intense joggers high.  The same cortical reaction occures from the repetative jaring on the joints and internal organs during the act of jogging.  Except that with S&M it is far more intense.

What you experienced as described sounds more like what slavejali wrote.

Although from my personal experience in studying the female orgasm, both as a submisive to a mistress and as a womans' lover.  Women do appearently go blind and deaf, temporarily, with a truely good orgasm.  Especially the way the area of the belly below the naval quivers at the moment of climax.  Definately one of those good things in life is to hold her in my arms as she lays there so vulnerable and trusting in me.

desertdancer -> RE: Was this sub space??? (6/22/2006 6:16:02 PM)

I sometimes get freezing cold, to the point of teeth chattering after coming down from sub-space.  While I'm floating I see shapes and colors, mostly different hues of colors. Sometimes I come down and giggle a lot, it's like my tummy is spilling over happiness and it bubbles up in the form of giggles, but also sometimes, even with the giggles, i get extremely cold and it takes me a while to get my temp back up.

Did you experience sub-space, I can't answer, as I think it's different for everyone. I never ever strive for sub-space, it's hard for me to describe, it's almost as if Master reaches into my tummy with his hands and lifts my soul up, places me in suspension where I float and He shows me things, that I couldn't see otherwise... Yes I know that sounds insane, but that's how it is for me

~dancer

Edited to add: although I experiance the coldness, i dont lose track of time or memories

MistressTexas -> RE: Was this sub space??? (6/22/2006 6:25:27 PM)

As a certified emergency medic, as well as pro domme... No I'm not leaning towards subspace. I'l leaning more towards neurological, spinal or possibly even metabolic shock. The fact that you had to be rewarmed in the shower as opposed to clothing or blankets tells me you were fairly deep in shock. The fact that your memories are missing/disjointed tells me that it was probably neurological shock, and that your "master" may have actually done damage. Get to a hospital, a walk in clinic if you have to. You don;t have to give them the bdsm details unless they are pertinent, like whippings or stretching, in which case I would reccomend finding a kink friendly doctor, and fast. Especially if I'm reading your post right, and for those 5 hours or so, you can't remember what was being done to you, only that you were cold. Thats not only textbook shock, thats textbook moderate to late shock. Not good darling, so at the very least make a docs appt soon. Sometimes shock can cause reactions later on, up to a month later. Best of luck hun.

Could be both.  That's the thing about subspace, it's different for everyone.

What i felt wasn't anything different.. except being freezing...No flashing colors, no euphoria, no wanting to dust off the harliquins [;)] Nothing to mark the beginning except for the sudden chills and chattering of my teeth.. and a mostly blank hand full of hours.

This was AFTER we were done playing... No one was rough, no one hit me, it was just a very sensual and very erotic time and i have every memory of everything during... Including the dozens of orgasms..  After our guest had left, C laid down with me and i started to shiver... we talked a few minutes and he put my key back on... then my memory is blank....

My C said i was like normal.. other than the shivers and chills...Once i warmed up he took me out to eat, got a coffee.. came back and i fell asleep.. He said i was chattering and being me the entire time..Even gave him directions to a place for supper..  i slept for a couple of hours after...One point of interest, the end of it i had just woke up from sleep... C said i was shivering and sweating again, having soaked the bed with it... but i remember everything from that point forward...

We've been talking since i posted this and just a few comments from him about things like where we went to eat  and such and i'm getting parts of my memory back.. like people that were there.. comments i made... things we talked about...

It's just weird... and i feel fine NOW... nothing other than puzzled over the black spot

mnottertail -> RE: Was this sub space??? (6/22/2006 6:43:47 PM)

She seems fairly cogent now.  I will doubt serious trauma, barring new evidence.

I am not a doctor and don't even play one on TV, but my children and all the women i have ever been with are all alive, and if they died it was years after of other causes.

You have good health insurance?  hell ya, go in and get a pap smear.

Since I wasn't there I can only offer a theory.  This doesn't sound like a medical issue to me at all -- it sounds like you may have been in a state of hypnosis, which can happen when people are intensely focused, relaxed and connected with another person. The drop in your temperature is possible side effect from deep induction and what you describe could be your experience of post-hypnotic amnesia.   The loss of time, the slow recall later, even the ability to continue to function all point towards amensia from an altered state.   If this is what happened, there's no harm from it even if it is disconcerting.  I use hypnotherapy as part of my practice and can say that it's a common occurrance.

Regardless of the reason, I'm glad you're okay now with no lasting effects.

Hello MyCaptainsPet,

I've experienced this as well, during intense multiple orgasms. Try doing a google search on "The Little Death" commonly known as "La petite mort"

Well I know that "la petit morte" (the little death) is the French euphemism for "orgasm," often intense and occasionally leading to passing out.  The actual French word for orgasm being "l'orgasme."

Is there something specific you were talking about?

NINASHARP -> RE: Was this sub space??? (6/23/2006 6:10:20 AM)

Ahhh yes, my typing sucks as well as my memory on how to spell the specificword,  it is la petit morte, thank you for the correction.

Specifically, yeah a number of experiences, but I wouldn't be so brave to reveal that here.

Fawne -> RE: Was this sub space??? (6/23/2006 8:46:35 AM)

Hi
Not sure about feelings of coldness, but personally I have had spotty memories of intense play. Sometimes much later, the memories return - sometimes not.

Is it uncommon for our subspace memory to have 'holes' ?  Wondering about other's experience. Please share any thoughts.

I'd consider it a form of subspace. Like the endorphin type-  floaty, dreamy, cozy. The other kind of subspace I experience is a talkative, wild kind which is adreneline - a rush, a high.

I get another kind, where I go quiet, passive and into myself somewhere. This may be a form of sub drop, I don't know.

It seems that those who enter subspace may experience more than one form and even that in which we share it is not exactly the same for all. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks and best to all,
fawne

I am trying to be a nice, polite girl because I can be a feisty brat who throws her rider ( haha not true - I get reined in well, and he is a superb rider who never falls off, I have never escaped).

[:D] But...... maybe the old standard applies : You had your brains f*cked out!
