Clearly some people have it right. The questions being asked by Florida's dipshit legislators are just more religious nuttery aimed at oppressing women.

Well, lets see... he is on trial.... for 7 counts of first degree murder... along with the death of a woman he gave pain medication too in his office...

I would say the law IS covering these incidents.

Absolutely right. There is no need whatsoever for a law that would require abortionists to provide medical care to an infant who survives an abortion. For one thing, why give them a heads-up? It's much more fun to prosecute them for murder when we catch them. And the state needs to spend more money on long expensive criminal trials anyway.

Ok, so let me get this straight -

Florida legislators considering a bill to require abortionists to provide medical care to an infant who survives an abortion were shocked during a committee hearing this week when a Planned Parenthood official endorsed a right to post-birth abortion.

"So, um, it is just really hard for me to even ask you this question because I’m almost in disbelief," said Rep. Jim Boyd. "If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?”

"We believe that any decision that's made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician," said Planned Parenthood lobbyist Snow.

“I think that at that point the patient would be the child struggling on the table, wouldn’t you agree?” asked Oliva.

"That’s a very good question. I really don’t know how to answer that," Snow said. "I would be glad to have some more conversations with you about this.”

Vid at link.

Unbelievable. I doubt she voted for Romney.

Do you honestly believe this man would have provided medical care had it been "required" by law?

Hey, I'm agreeing with you. There's no need or reason to set standards. Take HIPAA for example. There's no need for that. People can sue if they feel their privacy has been violated. Why should staff have guidelines? They're just a waste of paper, and not nearly as much fun as trials after the fact. I mean c'mon, the public needs entertainment!

No, you are being your typical self. Yet you cant debate me on the truth, so you keep tossing out your attempts to deflect.

7 out of over 8000 late term abortions.

7 too many for my tastes.

But maybe you need to watch the video Lucy put up instead of believing that no one wants to do anything. Listen to the ER physician talk and hear his frustration with a system that doesnt guarantee that a mother cant come in and simply say "stop".

I never said legislation was not needed. But the questions being asked in the OP's video were to the wrong person, especially when the one with the knowledge was already known to appear.

Gotta love those little video op moments when a politician can appear to make a point... only to have that point show just how much of an ass he was later on.

I'm sorry. I always forget that your point of view is the truth.

Id like to see the guy get the death penalty.

Stories like his are a peek into what will happen when republicans have their way regarding banning abortions
Butchers who get paid, how much was it? to perform late term abortions in "rogue" clinics.
Why didnt these women get abortions before the viability date? I notice that was not questioned, at least in the four excerpts, did anyone actually read the trial PDF???
Slicing the spinal cord is a tad more humane than taking a coathanger to a late term fetus/infant and the mother as was the case before roe versus wade and will be the case again, especially in places like North Dakota and Alabama, Mississppi etc.
There IS a law that provides care for the born alive infant. He failed it, badly, and in horrific ways
I knew that only a few would actually watch the whole thing.
Women who find themselves with an unplanned pregnancy, who cant afford one before viability laws kick in, may get the money eventually to get one via a backstreet abortionist like him, or women who dont realise they are pregnant, women who learn their child is badly disabled in the last trimester, for whatever reason, arent going to go away.
Education, options, birth control, decent pre natal affordable health care and sensible laws by physicians, not lawyers and politicians will go a long way to reducing horror stories like this one.
Insisting on banning abortions after 6 weeks is like banning guns, its bound to fail, only criminals will kill live individuals.
