You probably know some of this...but definitely make the thyroid a priority. My mom had numbness in her arms and hands for ever, plus all sorts of other strange symptoms (i.e. hives, weird mood swings, etc)!
Turns out her nodules on her thyroid that her terrible dr. never followed up on were thyroid cancer (she has recovered).

My own thyroid issues came to light and thats when she got tested for it. Mine are still unclear.
Make sure they test for thyroid antibodies, T4 and T3, not just TSH when they check out your thyroid.

Personally, I'm pretty sure the mold is causing it, and I am working with my landlord on that. I'm also working with my doctor to confirm it. I don't really agree that getting a CT scan of my sinuses is a better way to start than doing some cultures for fungal infection, but I'm trying to be patient about her choices. After the CT scan, I will become more insistent on the cultures if the infections continue to occur with such frequency (well, continue at all).

LL, they sometimes like to diagnose via a CT scan because often some types of mold infections are quite visible that way.

Also, probiotics do help fight off infections (as well as protecting you against C-diff).

I know you can't drink milk due to the gag-thing, but could you do smoothies?
Berries are fairly low-glycemic.

Throw in a small piece of frozen banana (if you like bananas) to help thicken it.

Thanks, and yea, I know most of it. Been dealing with thyroid issues for a good many years, although no one ever seems to want to put me on meds for it. Now because of the nodule, no meds since it could do more harm than good. Have to find and endocrinologist that actually takes my insurance (which is proving near impossible). Due to get more blood work again, including all the different thyroid levels. My normal quarterly blood work tends to be about 6 vials, lol.

Glad to hear your mom is in remission.

I'm glad you told me that, because I did ask her, and she didn't tell me you could see a fungal infection that way.

I think she was thinking it might keep the infections (which have been almost non-stop) at bay. I just knew it wasn't a concern about C-diff).

The smoothies I usually do are done with fruit, ice and lemonade. I could probably try some vanilla yogurt. I love bananas. And blueberries!
