ORIGINAL: LittleGirlHeart Oh, I know I over eat, I am under no delusion of that. In fact when I first started having weight issues I was eating 6 plates of food every day, trying to keep the other girls in the group home from getting in trouble for not eating their meal. But, for the majority of the time, I do not over eat, some days I don't eat at all, but when I do eat it's almost all junk, or totally junk or it's healthy food but not in the way it's being paired, like 3 starches and no protein, and I do not do any exercise. So for her to insist I over eat all the time was annoying, because she's fully aware that for large stretches of time I don't eat a bite of food, and I am not exaggerating. My understanding is that your body produces acid when it expects that you're going to eat, so even if you don't eat, you can still get heartburn. It's basically the same reason as why your stomach rumbles when you're hungry. If your body is used to having to digest "almost all junk" at lunchtime, then it's going to produce acid at lunchtime to deal with that whether or not you actually ate anything. Also, how are your stress levels and general emotional health? I used to have a lot of problems with heartburn, despite being a healthy weight and eating relatively healthy, and it was because of stress. Taking Prilosec for a month helped, but just getting out of the stressful situation was more helpful.
