I think you need to read it all again.

You are really gonna feel stupid if I have to point it out.

Powergamz1 -> RE: Zimmerman Trial - LIVE (7/1/2013 7:15:10 PM)

Who said (in the specific context of the size and strength of the 'high school football player is bashing your head against the concrete') that Martin wasn't a high school football player because he was too small, so he was playing Pop Warner?

I wonder...

I didn't think pop warner went to 17.
And when someone bounces your head off the pavement you don't ask for credentials.

For tackle football, Pop Warner stops at age 14 - 15.

They would not have let Martin play at age 17, 6' and 160 pounds.

However, *these folks would have*.

Who said he was still playing at 17?

Ty for making my point to all the people who were talking about the scary football player.

He was too fucking scrawny for HS ball.

Powergamz1 -> RE: Zimmerman Trial - LIVE (7/1/2013 7:19:19 PM)

'That doesn't sound like me' is a pretty common response upon hearing your own recorded voice, unless one is a radio personality or has otherwise heard their own voice played back hundreds of times.

What was Zimmerman thinking, holstering his weapon while Trayvon Martin was still alive and -- in his narrative -- a potential threat?

How about that he didn't want Martin to die.

Well, George Zimmerman had a whole lot of decision points where he made a choice which lead to him killing Trayvon Martin, so I'm not seeing how that works him not wanting Trayvon Martin to die after killing him.

Remember, It's Trayvon who stops screaming when the gunshot happens. That's because he's instantly dead.

"You hear that voice in the background? That's you. You hear yourself?" asked Serino.

"That doesn't even sound like me," said Zimmerman.

http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/USA-Update/2013/0628/Who-was-on-top-in-Zimmerman-Martin-tussle-Witness-testimony-in-conflict

OK I read that three times and not one of the witness's said zim was on top before the shooting...

the only thing even close is, "Neighbor Selma Mora testified Thursday "that after she heard what she now believes was a gunshot, she rushed outside and saw the man who survived the fight on his knees straddling Trayvon," according to The Orlando Sentinel. "That man then stood up and began pacing, she said.”

but that was after the shooting had already happened...

You don't find that odd behavior from someone who, supposedly, moments before had been under a violent completely out of control thug who was both trying to bash his head in and take his weapon that made him so afraid for his life that he had to shoot him? That he had shoved the corpse off of him, rolled over or otherwise moved to straddle it and then remained there for long enough that the witness got outside to see it?

not really no...
I think if I had been and done the same thing, I might have moved over the body and tried to do something to keep him alive...

I witnessed a friend killed by being hit by a car, my absolute first reaction what to rush directly to the body and see if I could do anything. the next thing I did was stand up in shock and stumble about until a police officer came and lead me to his car and put me in the back seat, where I proceded to actually PRAY for possibly the first and only time in my life

In this case, share his skittles and scarce codeine syrup. LOL. If he'd learned to share he might be alive today. Skittles and codeine could have done wonders for GZ.

It's hard to see the "pro-gun" angle in this homicide.

Todays witness FBI sound expert who said there is no way for anyone to tell.
If you are driving to fast does that mean you want the person who steps in front of you to die?
Of course not, so much for your "logic".

The point here is that Zimmerman KNOWS it wasn't him screaming, and therefore when the detective prompts him, he's all like, "Nah, Brah..." In this case, he doesn't have to figure out that it was Travyon Martin and not him. He KNOWS it's not him, and he's pointing that out for the detective.

I think Zimmerman really is just too dumb to know when he's being spoon-fed what he needed to beat this.

tazzygirl -> RE: Zimmerman Trial - LIVE (7/1/2013 8:09:03 PM)

WHO called Trayvon a "child"?

truckinslave -> RE: Zimmerman Trial - LIVE (7/1/2013 8:11:22 PM)

Why are you asking me?

tazzygirl -> RE: Zimmerman Trial - LIVE (7/1/2013 8:12:11 PM)

Did you not say those were quotes?

Since you are insisting they are, then surely you know where that quote came from and who posted it.

That was me and most were quotes. The last one referencing "child" was paraphrased. It was somewhere between page 45 and 48 I think. I can't remember who.

Yes referred to as a child. Also how about 'scrawny kid' [tazzygirl post 830]

I do know why you saved that error of the TM cheerleaders for final mention.
Does everyone know what it meant in race relations to refer to a black man as a boy?

truckinslave -> RE: Zimmerman Trial - LIVE (7/1/2013 8:28:23 PM)

You are posting to the wrong person.
As far as I know I am not a part of the "child" discussion.

tazzygirl -> RE: Zimmerman Trial - LIVE (7/1/2013 8:29:08 PM)

Ah so a paraphrase by you... against people you dont like... yet you try to pass them off as quotes. And then your buddies come along and echo your sentiments as if they were gospel.

And neither of you can be sure who said it. Amazing.

"Child" was used appropriately, as much as that may upset you. Its been used multiple times by those citing case law. Its also been used a few times by certain people, and yes, I know who they are.

The legal definition of a child is....

The legal definition of child generally refers to a minor, otherwise known as a person younger than the age of majority.[1]

17 fits that legal definition. If it upsets you that its being used, then deal with the law, not the one's who are using the term.

This sums up my feelings about this whole mess....

"In this day and age of 24-hour cable crap devoted to feeding the voyeuristic gluttony of an American public hooked on a bad soap opera that’s passing itself off as important"

I hadn't thought of that. I just thought it was an absurd highly exaggerated statement.

5-11, 158 pounds, is a scrawny kid at 17.

kid
/kid/
Noun
A child or young person.

Again, it fits, is appropriate, and shows the lack of intelligence of some posters who insist otherwise.

A history of looking for trouble?

Quite a history, in fact. Witness:

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/03/22/george-zimmerman-s-history-of-911-calls-a-complete-log.html

7. Sept. 21, 2005 – 9:00 p.m.
Type: 911
Subject: Animals
Report: Reports a stray dog

6. April 27, 2005 – 12:40 a.m.
Type: 911
Subject: Neighbor
Report: Open garage door

5. March 17, 2005 – 7:21 p.m.
Type: 911
Subject: Maintenance
Report: Pothole “that is blocking the road”

Some might say; not merely 'looking for trouble,' but actually desperate for it.

Owner59 -> RE: Zimmerman Trial - LIVE (7/1/2013 8:40:11 PM)

And this claim of "break-ins" in the neighborhood?

So above average that it needed armed vigilantes?

Or the average for similar communities?
