Oh wow, you mean the world didn't stop turning on its axis because you weren't happy?

Hmm, I find your post count to anger ratio interesting. So what's your story? You only have 3 posts and the two I've seen here are dripping with sarcasm and snark. Why so panties-in-asscrack bitter?

Here's the dealio, sweet cheeks. The owner of the site can put any old thing he/she elects to put on the main page. Why, you ask? Because they, not you, own that shit. If I owned something, I certainly wouldn't allow you to dictate what I do or not do with my property.

He's a grumpy young man who has been on the profile side of the site looking for a woman for 5 years. That seems to explain the content of his post. Honestly, 5 years on that side would make me surly too.

I'm sorry if I struck a raw nerve with so many of you with that post. Don't kill the messenger. The number of total posts of some of the responders is just staggering. In fact, there seems to be a direct relationship between the number of total posts someone has and their level of snarky misplaced anger.

Well, lets see... since I am sure I probably have one of the highest post counts, I will tackle this one.

4-11 I was in an accident... it required surgery... until I had that surgery, I was medically disabled. I didnt have that surgery until 7-12. Achilles tendon repair doesnt heal over night, ask any athlete who has had that surgery. So, yup, for almost 2 years, I was unable to work, 90% of that time, unable to walk.

This site became a lifeline for me to the outside world. Now, if you have issues with that, those are your issues.

A popular response was along the line of "don't like it, don't come here". I'm fine with that, just stop spamming the main server with the latest shit to come from here. I'm forced to read this garbage every time I logon. I don't have the choice not to. Surely even the dimmest of you understood that from my initial post.

Naaaa... I tend to not take orders from men who dont have jack-shit right to order me. I think I will continue to post as I please and you can simply ignore the "spamming".

But why do you have to come to a kink site to discuss the fucking weather?

I dont discuss the weather. I do get into lively debates with intelligent people who know things I dont know. Even through all the arguments, I learn a lot from many people here.

To summarise, there are a gazillion places online where you can chat with better informed people about any topic you want to, why do it here if you are "more than your kink"?

Ah, but this is one of the few that I can call someone a sadistic bastard... and leave that man smiling.

One big reason is that it provides a really interesting mix of people and personalities. It's a bit like the smokers patio at the dungeon. You never know what you are going to get. Also, the P&R forum, where I mostly hang, provides a great supply of stupid people, happy to stick out their tits so I can slip in the needles. Sometimes, the wife's need a few days to heal up, y'know?

This isn't just a dating site for the kinkily inclined, or a wank site for strutting manboys who still haven't resolved the Mommy issues. It's also a community where people who have already found their happy place come together and comfortably chill among others who aren't going to freak out at a strapon joke.

If all you want is kink conversation, you'll find plenty. You'll find highly experienced experts from the lecture circuit posting in here. Ask the right question, in the right place, be willing to wade through the smartasses and dumbasses, you can get answers no google search is going to turn up.

But hey, if the scroll is interfering with the profile perving, stick a post-it over that square inch of screen, and go back to spamming fake subs.

Beware the pasta witch...soon coming to your neighborhood. I come here to look at tazzygirl's variety of hot asses. Hey, I am a lech and there are a handful of the fairer sex here and other places who are damn glad I am.

Seriously man, I can't believe you come here and even ask this question. This is a blog just like any other blog...subject matter excepted. I blog in many places that deal with human relationships, sociology, politics, economics.

Now as for the rolling scroll of subject matter. I think it is a form (and a clever way) of letting bloggers know the latest subject and contributions where at some sites it is static and strictly up to that blogs managing personnel, some of which I leave immediately because of it.

I blog at the Washington post, the NYTimes and others and they are static and all too often don't change enough or cut me off unless I pay. Or they already have a 1000 contributions which I avoid and will on occasion avoid those here if they are old with 100's of replies.

Does that answer what bitching excepted...seems a technical question ?

Introductions - Positive Experiences. So, let me get this straight, you've just met this wonderful person and now you want to tell everyone how wonderful they are so they can do their best to steal them away from you? Or is it only here so that guys can create fake profiles and make posts about how wonderful themselves were? Or is it because you're a budding Mills and Boon author who everyone tells to STFU whenever you try to invade their reality with your fantasy world? Whatever the reason, it's stupid at best, or fraudulent at worst. Ironically if "criticism of other users" was permitted it might actually be entertaining or informative. Knowing that DreamGurl69LOL is a balding serial killer might be useful information to some.

Yeah, I'll take this part.

Who says that everyone I've ever written a Positive Experience thread about (or when they've written about Me) means that it's a case of anybody in the position of being "stolen away" or some such thing? I guess it doesn't occur to some that a lot of people meet folks who are friends and/or play partners. If I go and beat somebody, it doesn't mean that we're necessarily relationship compatible, but they might be great for somebody else. It's not like I've got a shortage of play partners that I feel the need to keep them all to Myself. Complain about that if you want, bro, but that is BDSM right there.

Stuff that's been in the Positive Experience section that you've obviously missed: CM meet up parties. Private events in people's homes. People who have met at major events who have played together. Reviews of demos/presentations. People who have traveled to meet others or visit different munch groups.

Personally, I happen to wish that particular section of the boards got used more. It let's people know that it isn't just about (what can be) the cesspool on the other side and that at least some of the folks who inhabit this site are real.

I'm with LP on that one. I have a thread of my own in Positive Experiences, and not just because I met some random dude from the personals side and had a great night of slap, tickle and whoopee. I met Master, and I wanted others to know that it is possible to meet people on the personals side and have a long-term, loving relationship (if that's what you're after).

If I was even slightly worried that someone would read my thread and try to 'steal' Master away from me, then I'd have a good think about my own self-esteem and my ability to choose and keep a good man.

But actually, I'm quite pleased the OP started this thread. I mean, as whiny threads go it's a hell of a lot better than the usual 'fakes and wannabes' or 'why does my online Master/Mistress/sub/slave not want to talk any more?' garbage

In fact, there seems to be a direct relationship between the number of total posts someone has and their level of snarky misplaced anger.

Anyway, the gist I seem to be getting from you is that I'm a prick for thinking a bdsm site and its forums should be pretty much about bdsm interests and not politics or religion or the weather or whatever is popular this minute. Not sure how to respond to something so self-evident. It's like asking me to prove that 1 is greater than 0. If you need to argue that then just move onto the next post, you'll never get it.

A popular response was along the line of "don't like it, don't come here". I'm fine with that, just stop spamming the main server with the latest shit to come from here. I'm forced to read this garbage every time I logon. I don't have the choice not to. Surely even the dimmest of you understood that from my initial post.

There was also a lot about "because my kink isn't me" sort of replies. Now, knowing my audience, maybe I should have been clearer about this in my initial post. But that is *exactly* what I was saying about you. You have your kink, which is fine, enjoy it, whatever. But why do you have to come to a kink site to discuss the fucking weather? If I want to discuss the weather, or find information about it, or find an expert on it, or whatever, I'll goto a weather site, not a kink site. It is exactly the fact that your kink controls your life and the people you associate with that makes the place so shitty. The reason you come here and have a million posts is exactly because your kink is your life. To summarise, there are a gazillion places online where you can chat with better informed people about any topic you want to, why do it here if you are "more than your kink"?

Nah-you're not a prick for thinking that way-don't give yourself too much credit-but rather narrow minded. Just because you think one way doesn't mean the rest of us do.
Think about it like going to a BDSM club. Whenever you go there are certain people playing, using the cages and crosses etc...
But there's almost always a much larger contingent gathered round doing the social thing, talking about the weather, friendships, people, current events, bondage tips, whatever.

And I dunno about you, but I'm a grown man, control my emotions and everything. My kink doesn't control my life, I control my kink.
The reason I come here and have a few posts is because I came originally to learn some things, maybe pick up a pointer or two, share an experience. Instead, I found some people I like, others who annoy me, some worthwhile discussions on some interesting topics and the occasional fascinating dialogue.
As for where and when-The wise man is willing to walk through life with eye's open, cognizant of the fact that lessons can come from anywhere and everywhere.
It's not situational or site driven.

Point in example (And I've argued this one with focus before)-Rolling Stone is a magazine about music, rock usually. Not what one thinks of as really deep. But their finance writer, Matt Tiabbi, is maye the best around at digging upon financial dirt. The guy routinely smokes the Wall Street journal and NYT-it's not even kinda funny how much more on point he is than elsewhere. Another example-I frequent some heavy duty sports sights, places that are really number oriented-heavy duty statistics. The cats on there tend to be economists, lawyers, finance people, cats who are uber smart and play with numbers for fun. These guys lay out some of the best ethical/moral/philosophical arguments/debates I've ever seen, far better than those found on sites dedicated to that purpose.
People have wide ranging interests. Most everybody is an expert on at least one thing in life. Personally, I like kink. But it doesn't define me or is all that I am. Thinking that way would lessen me as a man, as a human. I've assembled a lifetime of experiences, some good, some bad, a lot of education and some real expertise in a few things that I can actually speak authoritatively on. Why wouldn't I share that shit if it's asked?
And the forums allow that, which is pretty cool.

Now, all that said, I tend to hit only a few forums here. WTF-It's a buffet-why sample what I don't care for?
I bounce through general discussion, ask a master, ask a slave and off topics interspersed with the very occasional journey into P&R (too loony over there for my taste-that's where to find the real wing-nuts).
If you don't care for the non bdsm stuff, that's what I'd advise you to do.

ETA-And y now it should be obvious what the forums are really here for-my personal amusement, but of course.

op.... not all forms of kink are sexually related.
Some like to submit ideas.
Some like to Master conversation.
Some like to switch.

That simple.

In short, surely the reason the forum exists is so one can post things related to bdsm without being ostracised like you would be on other forums. Why not keep it limited to that and dump the rest of the shit that just clogs it up and makes collarme look bad in the process?

Because then we wouldn't hear from whiny little boys like you going on and on about how terrible this site is. What fun would that be?

Does someone have a gun to your head or do you really believe CM is your last and only chance of getting laid? Otherwise you do have a choice. You can go to another site and try your luck there. According to your profile you have been here for over 5 years, if you haven't gotten someone interested in you in that time and you have no interest in the forums why bother. And now that you have posted here anyone who might have been interested can come and look at the little whine fest you posted and understand why moving on to the next candidate might be a good option for them.
