Various places all over the globe with STD rates at least 6 times lower than in the North American, where the rate of infection when you stay away from risk groups and use condoms is very low already.
If you go to a country with low STD rates, use STD testing for participants, and screen out high risk groups like bisexuals, drug users, and so on, your risks turn to practically nil.
At that point your risk rates turn into a 0.000001% or something chance you may get something you don't want, which if you do is most likely curable, and if it isn't, isn't deadly for at least a decade or so.
At that point, most of what people have in their kink repertoire (excluding Jeff here) like breath play, suspension bondage, any bondage at all, canning, needle play and so on all are far higher risk activities than gang bangs (so yeah, been there, done that... boring).
I think people conceptually overestimate the risks of catching a horrible STD while underestimating the risks of other kink play comparatively, because the risk of an STD feels more random and more uncontrollable than accidentally fucking something else up during kink play. It really isn't, and it really isn't more risky at all, but because we're dealing with Dominant personality types here, the idea of risking something completely beyond your own knowledge and control that you can't plan or guard against even with precautions, feels like a far greater risk than engaging in a far more higher risk activity that feels as if it's in your control, because it going wrong would mean you actively (though perhaps accidentally) fucked up.
