I was contemplating this and was very curious to get your views of sex being the death of romance. For me I get very comfortable with a partner after sex. For the most part the after sex pillow talk is one of the most vulnerable times, defenses are down, and you learn more truths about your partner.

For me sex inspires romance. To create an atmosphere that is romantic and woo and seduce her day after day. I like to seduce her into sex as opposed to expecting to hit it anytime I want because I have already been there.

I should clarify this a bit; There are many times I want to exert dominance and throw her to the furs and pillage the hell out of her, tackle he in the forest under the moon, etc... However in a lasting relationship (more the reason I do not have casual sex) I want to romance, seduce, and charm the panties off her.

I will try to set the options to allow for each side of the dynamic M/F D/s and would love to get the contrasting views of you all.

Having casual sex before you found the basis of a relationship is putting the cart before the horse. I feel it's one of many reasons that so many people trying to find connections lose interest.

If all you want someone for is to fuck them-that gets old pretty quick, those new relationship hormones only last three to six months. But if you have something MORE intimate, that makes sticking around a possibilty-it has a chance to survive that.

In some relationships, SEX killed the relationship. In others, it enhanced the romance of the relationship. Whatever happens, it's garunteed that Sex changes the relationship as most people begin to be more themselves. If and when a couple lives together is when the more of every day habits and such begin to surface as well. Either way, sex changes everything.

This is why I support sex before marriage. Who would buy a car before test driving it or buy a home before going inside?

You can test drive a car without poking your cock in the gas tank.

Loki... nice to see that someone still likes a little romance.

When I test drive a car I don't just look at the exterior, think about how well I would get along with that car.

When I test drive a car, I look under the hood, see if there's enough space in the trunk, I kick the tires, I check for anything that I think may cause a rough spot down the road. Then I slip into the driver's seat, find out how well I fit into the seat, feel it as it forms itself to me. I caress the starter and listen to the purr of the engine. I put it in gear, feel it respond to my touch as I press the accelerator, and I love to find out how well it can hug the curves. And of course there's something to be said for its being able to press it to its limits without having to buy it first.

Given my the majority of my past experience, you may need to skew my response (hehe). But I am keeping hope alive that when I am ready it is not the death of romance. I am counting on it, in fact. - Susan

I think that there is definitely a sexual tension that arrises in the beginning of a relationship. It can be delicious. However I don't think you can see the real person, that they will take down the mask until after you have sex with them. It would be a shame to waste months only to find out they are far from who you wanted to begin with. I don't like to wait. if I am into someone, I want to explore them. If I'm not into them, it's just "no thank you."

Well, sometimes you get just the romance, sometimes just the sex,
and sometimes both in one package.

Why in the hell do I keep forgetting the switches? I have a real high opinion of them.

In my relationship with my Dom *celebrating 4 months of living together today!* Our romance and sex just keep getting stronger and better. For me the two work best together.

To me sex is the end of romance. Modern women who plough their own furrow appear to want the best of both worlds. They rightfully want to make their own decisions and choices and be sexually permissive (or the right to be even if not acted upon) but they also want to be woed in the traditional way through romance. To me their stance is contradictory. Men always want their cake and eat it too in the sexual sphere and with such availability of sex in modern casual relationships, there is no need to resort to wooing a woman. Women are there and sexually available.

'When women forge their own 'gender identity', in the way the feminists recommend, they become unattractive to men - or attractive only as sex objects, not as individual persons. And when men cease to be gentlemen, they become unattractive to women. Sexual companionship then goes from the world.'
