Why do people get so overweight? 1. It is unattractive. 2. It makes you seem ill disciplined. 3. It is unhealthy. 4. It makes life practically difficult. 5. It is bad for hormones, energy and happiness. 6. Fat people earn less and can get into far less jobs. However, people still continue to eat, eat, eat. So I was wondering what the opinion on this is, in this online bdsm community is? Is it an obsession with physical pleasure like a drug addiction? If so should they be treated like drug addicts and put in prison :).

For a moment I am going to pretend that this wasn't extremely offensive shallow and all sorts of wrong and say yes food can be an addiction just like a drug, only unlike a drug you can't just cut it out of your life so it isn't so cut and dry. Also there are many emotional reasons people become over weight. Did you know there is a large link between obesity and sexual abuse? There are also health reasons that someone may be overweight and not actually over eating. There is so much causing this problem and I agree it is a shame that so many people suffer, but for most people it isn't a choice they have willingly made. Ailey

I'm just going to way in here and say I have recently discovered that some over weight women don't just have insatiable appetites for food. At least one or two I have recently spent a little time with have insatiable appetites for carnal activities. [:)]

See, and here I thought that if drug addicts were imprisoned, it was because they had done something, say...oh, I don't know...illegal? Whereas, last I checked, eating (and yes, even being overweight) were perfectly legal. Must be some flaw in my logic.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of drugs that are used to treat various psych disorders that are appetite stimulants, others actually cause weight gain in and of themselves. For myself, part of my weight gain was due to depression after a back injury basically ended a career that I loved. It was compounded when I was diagnosed as bipolar and put on meds to deal with that. Since I have researched medications, I have a very active input in medications that I am prescribed. I also have made "excuses" to exercise, primarily a 3 mile walk with one of my hybrid dogs every morning and on cool evenings. So far I have lost over 120 pounds at a slow pace which makes it easier to keep off.

I love to cook for my man. When I'm single, I don't spend hardly any time cooking elaborate meals and I do spend more time at the gym. When I'm getting spectacular sex on a regular basis, I like to reciprocate with fabulous food.
