I'm a pretty good shot. I was in the Army (Infantry) and qualified expert almost every time with an M16. I've had my license to carry for 7 years now, practice at a range every few weeks, and generally fire 100-300 rounds each time. Even so, firing at a moving target, in the dark, when someone is (depending on which witnesses you believe) shooting at you, isn't an easy shot. I've done night firing, it's almost impossible to see your sights (even with night sights it's still tough), so you're mostly firing on instinct. But regardless of all that, no self-defense law I've ever seen requires you to be an expert marksman. They don't even say you have to be a good shot. They just give private citizens the right to protect themselves (or others) from imminent bodily harm. I don't agree 100% with the judge's ruling, but I definitely don't agree with the peanut gallery here that brands every shooting (self-defense or otherwise) as some sort of criminal act.

Im not disagreeing if they find the girls they should be charged to the fullest extent... no quarrel there had he killed one of the bullies, I would agree with him not getting jailed and the SYG result, however he didnt. Make of that what you want.... IM obsessed? LMFAO, yeah ok...maybe I just hate innocents dying , nah that couldnt be it could it.

Scot had witnesses that said he was being shot at before he fired. If he was being shot at, (I'm not saying he was, I wasn't there, but considering the verdict it seems the judge believed his witnesses.) then that implies the girls were still there doing the shooting.

Yes, that's probably why the girls were not charged with felony murder and the prosecutor went after the killer. Actually not even Lucy's article says the girls had left and others quote witnesses who say he was shooting back so you are assuming facts not in evidence.

I've been looking, but so far I can't find anyone else who's been charged. If they're minors, we might never know. An aside: Lucy, I love your first signature line. I've told this as a joke a few times, and it's amusing how many people don't get it. ;)
