Catch them, how? After the fact? That reads as though you are seriously advocating that victims should simply be 'rape bait'.

EB, I am sure you will be delighted to hear that I have nominated your post for a prize in the CM Annual Sheer Unadulterated Stupidest Post competition (Retarded Anemone category).

While the competition is fierce, I'm sure your post will breeze it in.

I'm thinking that it might be a good idea to catch them in the first place. What do you think?

Oh good, throw in the edit while I'm responding to the first part of your post LMAO

As to the edited part, yes, it would be a great idea to catch them in the first place. The would be victim holds him at gun point until the police arrive.

Nonetheless, it would appear that the best way of preventing a similar situation re-occurring is to change the laws relating to paroling serial rapists.

So what about the ones who haven't been caught yet ?

I'm afraid I can't see how the question of paroling rapists who haven't been caught yet arises. Perhaps you could enlighten me ....?

Well, there is also a question of one more reason to own a gun. Why can't any rapist, paroled or otherwise, be a reason to own a gun ? Just because we fix that one type of situation doesn't make us perfectly safe from rapists.

There are probably several million privately held legal guns in CA now. Just as there was when this monster was raping women prior to his capture. None of which were the least bit successful in preventing his reign of terror. Not exactly a successful track record is it?

You are going to have to explain to me how adding one more gun to the several million already there is going to magically stop his creep re-offending........

The question is one more reason, not one more gun. You're assuming that just because there are millions of guns in the state of California that all the victims would be armed yet unsuccessful in preventing the rape. At least that's what seems to be your implication.

I'm going to assume that the victims were unarmed, because after all, rapists are rarely successful with a woman who is armed. It's too bad for the unarmed victims the rapist was successful with as they probably heard from some liberal politician, the mythological notion that if you have a gun, it's more likely to be taken away and used against you than to defend yourself with, or they read it on an Internet forum.

The easy availability of pillow cases led to his crimes.

Repeating the question.

quote:

Here's the hypothetical question, Tweak. Say some developmentally disabled judge decides this guy should live three doors down from you, or perhaps your mom (and the judges hands are not tied on releasing the guy btw - it's his call, as is the location). Typical police response time is over 15 minutes. What changes might you want to make in the household?

Or we could declare a year 'round open season on people wearing a pillow case on their head, flour sacks too. Shoot them with AR15's.

And if he was coming to live on your street, Lucy?

And just FYI, I believe the best first line of personal protection in the home is a big dog. The wife has two in the house, when I leave for work in the morning, but she handles the shotgun just fine, too.

If you read the article you would have noted that he profiled his victims for those less likely to give him problems.
A sign saying "this is a gun free home" would have been far more inviting than "forget the dog worry about the owner".

I tried to edit above because i left out an explaination but my stupid phone is messin me up.

One more gun won't stop the creep from reoffending unless of course his would be victim chose to arm herself with that particular gun. If that's the case then it's not magic, it's bullets that will penetrate his skull and blow his brains out. The creep will never reoffend ever again.

Given the current rules in California, children's toys in the yard are almost as good as a sign that says "no readily accessible guns on the premises."

I had one of those, "never mind the dog" signs, but it was kind of a joke. Nobody in their right mind was going to never mind the dog that was snarling at them from behind it.

Headshots are for Xbox and silhouette targets, Luvmuffin. Center mass, and keep firing until s/he is all the way down.

You will be entitled to a response (and get one) after you have apologised and withdrawn the vicious and totally unfounded abuse you directed at me last time we communicated.

Until then happy singing!

another reason an American might wish to own a gun is if they were an exchange student, in their 20's, working in Australia under the lefties' preferred government, installing Pink Bats.

Adding to a BUNCH of health issues that were totally unnecessary. very similar to asbestos problems, in fact.

too bad PEOPLE SUFFERED, despite politically-correct claptrap

many people suffering inoperable and untreatable conditions, particularly of the respiratory kind, would RATHER take a bullet.

I'm glad that we now agree that arming the population on its own isn't going to change anything. Your suggestion has already been tried and proved to be a total failure.

The control group was the several million Californians who own licensed, legitimate weapons who were totally unable to prevent this creep raping women. There's no reason whatsoever to assume that increasing the size of the control group will alter the outcome and every reason not to.

I get the impression that you have in mind living in some kind of armed camp where all citizens go about their business armed to the teeth all the time. You may call that a solution, I would call it a living hell.
