FR

This is a nice fresh topic.

Am I the only one who has a new 'French Tutor' fantasy from this thread?

I've always wanted to scene in Latin, too...

You're getting me all excited here, SoulAlloy (sadly I can't say that in Latin!)

Personally, I have no idea. When I'm in 'forn parts', I shout everything loudly & slowly in English, (Gods own language), followed by comprendez vous!? The forners usually get the idea .

Actually, I think I've answered the question - VOUS.

thats when they smile politely back at you and say ' va te faire foutre' ;)

MariaB, I hope that means 'I wish I was English', somehow I doubt it .

gary, its better you don't know

Google is your friend! That's how I just found out!!

hlen5, MariaB was trying to let me down gently, you just want to upset me , shame on you, tsk tsk.

Athena,

Anyone can speak French, all you have to say is 'hon hee hon hon hee hon', in different timbres, ensuring you sound like you have some form of nasal affliction, while gesticulating wildly, with your arms , no problem.

I can easily cycle round yours, with a beret, & a string of onions round my neck, smelling of cheese & cheap wine any time.

Would you be interested ! Please say yes!

Would some *please* translate, I don't want to have to wait for Himself to get home, and he's having a busy day at work so can't disturb him with CM stuff.

Please?

Anything one says in Latin sounds profound.

(rather like Anything said by Alan Rickman sounds sexy .... *sigh* Alan Rickman)

Soul, I can translate the French, but I'm lost when it comes to the Latin. Sorry my friend!

Are you kidding? I can barely speak English!

Well, alright, I speak a little Hebrew. The phlegm would make it a little less sexy than it sounds, unless you are into that sort of thing.

Omnia Gallia in tres partes divisa est.

Degustibus non disputandum est.

Habeas corpus.

That's about it for my Latin. Can I use spanglish and fake it?

All I have to say MBMG, is after thrashing them at Agincourt & Waterloo etc, & saving their arses in two world wars, any insult from the French is like being mauled by a paraplegic hamster .

I speak Russian, and I assume that if I was doing a scene with someone I would use the formal. Just feels right.
