Exactly! Note that Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and especially Buddhists would have no issues with Christians celebrating Christmas, and would greet them with "Merry Christmas" with no issues at all, so why should it be offensive in public areas where Malls think it's great business decision, not to mention "Merry Christmas!"

If malls and businesses in malls think that putting up religious Christmas decorations or talking about Christmas is good for their business, they absolutely have the right and freedom to do so. Other malls or businesses may feel differently, and they also have the right and freedom to not do so.

M and I have a business, and we chose to not put up banners that said "Merry Christmas", or religious decorations, and had a "Holiday party" - because we know that a lot of our customers are not Christians and we'd rather they not feel uncomfortable being there. (Also, we're not Christians, so it'd entirely a business decision either way.)

FWIW- I try very hard not to shop for Christmas gifts in stores that do not feature the word "Christmas" in their advertising and displays. The rest of the year I don't care- but those who want my Christmas dollar will cater to me.....

*shrugs* That's also your choice and freedom. Every business is going to have to make that decision themselves based on their preference, market and customers. We're a primarily service-based business, and "Christmas dollars" aren't really something we make much money on.

I suggest you may want to minimize the sniping back and forth. Hijacking topics with sniping is a violation. If you have any questions you can message me.

I have pulled some posts that were violations of our guidelines concerning racial/ethnic slurs. Mail will be sent shortly. The string of replies to that violation has been pulled as well.

Thanks,

Jon Stewart's 'War On Christmas' Panic Takedown Begins With Palin, O'Reilly

It's never officially the Christmas season until Jon Stewart kicks off his annual debunking of "War on Christmas" panic.

This year, he was handed a few of the usual targets: Sarah Palin and Bill O'Reilly. Palin has a book out this year ensuring that Christmas is properly honored, so Stewart really has his work cut out for him. Between their misunderstanding of what menorahs are used for and the pagan origins of Santa Claus, the War on Christmas is off to a great start.

Above, check out Stewart's takedown of Palin, O'Reilly and their problems with perhaps the biggest critic of capitalism, and thereby Christmas: Pope Francis. Below, watch him react to Fox News' take on the "war," and how Sharia Law at a YMCA is going to undo the years of Christmas progress.

Watch video: http://www.thedailyshow.com/full-episodes/tue-december-3-2013-jared-leto

I hope posters on here are alert enough to realize Stewart and O'reilly are sort of "business partners" and appear on each other's show to generate "controversy" and boost each others RATINGS. More ratings, more MONEY! Thats what its all about.

Well we knew Faux wasnt for shit, and pretty far out in right field stupidity right off, we caught that one.

Reductio ad absurdum

On the other hand Citizens United is a valid case in point.

Somewhere in the majority opinion it says something to the effect "This is probably unconstitutional, but everyone seems to want it, so let's try it"

Or Sandra Day O'Connor on reverse racism.

The list is endless and substantial.

Forget the war on Christmas, I say we declare war on Idiot Christmas drivers and shoppers.
