A German S.S. General was asked at the Nuremburg War Crimes Trials  How Did The Holocost Happened? His reply was, "One Step At A Time". We've seen W. take us to disaster one step at a time, & still 30-odd % support him. The most common charge against Nazi military officers at Nuremburg was "Waging A War Of Aggression", or in other words, invading a country for no reason. Sound familiar?

No, it doesn't. Because it's not.

Yes, it sounds like what Saddam Hussein tried to do to Kuwait, and what Hamas and Al Queada want to do to Israel and The US.

The more I study of Nazi Germany. the more I see G.W..  When he took office I observed him and something just seemed so familiar in the way things were unfolding.

Next time you see “Hitler Uncovered: The Color of War”.. on the history channel- WATCH it. It will scare the shit out of you. It pretty much parallels what has happened in this "presidency" of ours.  The ATTITUDE is exactly the same.

Consequences?  Consequences like their CD sales going up, while CD sales overall are dropping?  And consequences like their summer tour generating similar numbers to Springsteen's?

Yeah, give me some of those 'consequences'.

The fact is, that the Dixie Chicks used to be fairly proficient musicians in Austin, and Nashville had them doing tired covers of passe chestnuts like 'Landslide'.

Prior to this comment, I doubt seriously if anyone had ever bought a Dixie Chicks CD based on the impression that they were Bush supporters.

Thanks to the gullibility of the masses, they now have free publicity that they couldn't have generated with a dozen press agents, and they are ready to move on into a rock phase...something that even the mighty Garth couldn't pull off without flopping.

"Pleeeeeze don't throw us Chicks into that briar patch Mister Toby Keith...Pleeeze..." (Hysterical giggles heading off in the direction of the nearest bank).

Pooor babies...

So, Bush isn't going to be out of power in a couple of years? We'll have concentration camps? Come on now, folks....

Are you kidding me? Hitler killed 6 million Jews and millions of others. He took over just about all of Europe. Show me exactly where the similarities are now to then? When people say things like you did, it just cheapens the actual horror of what Hitler did.

Lotus, aren't you glad we have the Second Amendment in this country?
Funny about the left, if you're not a Nazi then you must be a Racist.
They like labels I guess.

Evening popeye. Both sides have some that are label-lovers, of course; the term "commie" was tossed around awfully easily by some righties. What kills me is how some on each side can be so close-minded, so blind... ask one if they can name something they like about the "other side" and they can't.

peter, what I find even worse is that so many on all sides can be so hateful, and so determined to wreck everything. No matter how old I am, or how "wise", I can't get out of my head the thought of how great the world could be, for everyone. I know it'll never be that way, and never was. We're human and flawed, and life is what we make it, and we make it in our image.

'Tis a pity no one will believe just how bad he is until he is out of office.

"Naturally, the common people don't want war, but they can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.  Tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and endangering the country,  It works the same in every country."                                - Herman Goering     (Hitler's Reichmarschall at the Nuremberg Trials)

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."  (Quoted in 1918, by REPUBLICAN President Theodore Roosevelt)

And lastly:  "Never try to teach a pig to sing.  It wastes your time and irritates the pig".

who is going to jail or dying for disagreeing with bush?  I've seen people get mad that others call them unpatriotic, but that is a far cry from being gassed, or imprisoned.

"After 9/11 we could no longer take a chance on Iraq (who sponsored terrorism) to give their WMDs to Al Queada or other terrorist groups. Saddam Heusein had been in violation of the UN charter requiring him to disclose all WMDs in his possesion or suffer the consequences. His failure to do this for 12 years gave us the right to invade. That we had the balls to enforce the charter, and the UN didn't, just shows how impotent the UN is."

There isn't a country in the world that doesn't sponsor terrorism.  Can you say "The Contras", once heavily sponsored by the US?  Or how about NORAID? Cuba? India?  Indonesia? Chile?

America (and Britain) sponsors terrorism throughout the world, it just renames those terrorists as "freedom fighters" to cover its arse.

And remind me, how many WMD's did we find in Iraq? Because I seem to remember it being "none" and Bush and Blair issuing official apologies for receiving 'poor information'.

I edited this on the grounds "ummm, ok" probably isn't your best.

No wait, I edited it again.

Maybe it is

Going to jail = everyone in Guantanamo Bay?
Dying = you shouldn't need to ask.

I think you have blame Blair as well for collusion. I think in a similar situation France and Germany would have threatened to remove their diplomatic fig leaf. I think Chirac is right when he says Britain has to decide if its the 51st state of America or part of the EU.

However, I think you know, NTUY was talking about American citizens. At least that is what I assume.
