ORDINARY LOVE by U2
(from "Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom" Soundtrack)

The sea wants to kiss the golden shore
The sunlight warms your skin
All the beauty that's been lost before
Wants to find us again
I can't fight you anymore
It's you I'm fighting for
The sea throws rocks together
but time...leaves us polished stones

We can't fall any further if
We can't feel ORDINARY love
And we cannot reach any higher if
We can't deal with ORDINARY love

Birds fly high in the summer sky
and rest on the breeze.
The same wind will take care of you and I
We'll build our house in the trees
You're heart is on my sleeve
Did you put it there with a magic marker?
For years I would believe
that the WORLD couldn't wash it away

We can't fall any further
If we can't feel ORDINARY love
And we cannot reach any higher
If we can't deal with ORDINARY love

[Chorus:]
Are we TOUGH ENOUGH,
for ORDINARY love?

We can't fall any further if
We can't feel ORDINARY love
And we cannot reach any higher if
We can't deal with ORDINARY love

We can't fall any further if
We can't feel ORDINARY love
We can't reach any higher
If we can't deal with ORDINARY love

Love isn't a real, tangible thing. It's a bit skewed from Cleopatra to Sinatra, eh? But you can find whatever you want, especially something that you as a person have to define for yourself. It might seem skewed online, but I've met plenty of people dominant and submissive to know they have feelings somewhere.

You know, you get to define the whole love thing for yourself. For me, divorced, it's looking back at little things like watching a shitty movie and remembering it 10 years later. I don't remember the movie, but I remember who I was "dancing" with if you will. I don't think specific activities or even fetishes change whether or not "love" happens.

Like I said, love isn't like gravity: it's not one, real thing that tugs or pulls at you from afar.. Love is something we make and mold in our heads for ourselves. It's a delusion, but a great one, so we all buy into a piece of it. Don't tell yourself that desire is going to change what you can feel and perceive.

I've been into this lifestyle for at least 7 years, cant honestly say there is anyone truly out there for me.
But I've always been alone and unwanted so I'm used to it... Sort of

Been there and done that for ten years before I finally gave up and went back to vanilla dating. Too many events to count, too much disappointment and disillusion in people will do that. Way too many people devote ten, twenty, and sometimes more years of their lives to this lifestyle looking for "the one". I say give it ten years and if there is no connection with anyone serious then move on before the best years of your life are behind you.
