Anyone have any ideas on the use and where to purchase catheters? I have tried using cotton swabs, but they have limited length. Any suggestions?

Google really is your best friend. Type in kinky medical and see what you find.

Please tell Me that you're not doing this without any know-how.

peppermint -> RE: Catheters (1/11/2014 12:22:16 PM)

He was using cotton swabs. That should answer your question, LP. However, at least a new catheter would be sterile and probably safer than what he's been doing.

You are liable for your bottom's hospitalization costs caused by the severe bladder and kidney infections that will result from this. I hope you have the money to pay for it.

He's the bottom, and I assume he's doing this to himself, though I could be wrong.

wait...cotton swabs?
*shudders*

Catheters can be purchased at any home medical supply store. Every major city in the US and most minor cities will have such a store. They also can be purchased on the internet from medical supply stores.

For indwelling catheters you should be trained in sterile techniques. I would also recommend attending a class on one. Contact the home medical supply store that sells them and ask about a class or demo. Your BDSM community may also have something.

A question I have to ask is why are you interested in Catheters? If you are looking for urethra insertion play then sounding (the insertion of metal sounds) would be more appropriate. So I am curious if you are just into insertions? Or have a true interest in catheters

Also be aware they also make male condom catheters that require no medical training and nothing goes inside the penis. It simply rolls on like a condom and the there is a short tube opening at the end which gets connected to a draining bag. These are designed for males with incontinence problems and allows them to wear this under there closes. The bag can be removed and draining and put back on. The condom catheter can be worn all day. These can also be obtained at the home medical supply stores I mentioned. These work great for males who are into prolonged bondage sessions.

What are metal sounds? It is not so much the use of catheters, but the urethra insertion. Any information? thankyou

peppermint -> RE: Catheters (1/11/2014 7:06:26 PM)

Again....Google is your friend. Use it. It works.

ChatteParfaitt -> RE: Catheters (1/11/2014 8:28:41 PM)

Okay some sound advice on sounds. (Couldn't help myself).

Don't buy cheap ones, and sterilization is your friend. You really shouldn't do this w/o training, but I think you're going there anyway. Check out Mummy's suggestion with the condom catheter, he's knows his stuff.

That's it. I know I'm the kinder, gentler Me these days, but I'm not going to sit back and let stupidity reign the day.

OP, if you are not educated enough to know what a decent urethral sound is, I'm thinking you should probably stop doing whatever it is that you are up to and start doing some research. If you don't know the safety concerns of stuff like why you shouldn't be shoving q-tips into the urethra for fun, I'm literally scared for you.

I'm a female top. I LOVE sounds. They are completely awesome for males (I don't do sound play with females) and it's intensely hot. At the same time, if I wasn't doing it as safely as possible, and caused infections or worse, NOBODY should trust Me as far as they could throw Me.

This whole flipping thread reminds Me of the post about how some chick "borrowed" a sound from her girlfriend, brought it home without cleaning it, and couldn't figure out why her guy needed to get his infection cleaned up.

Thank God the sub in My life enjoys playing with Me because he knows I won't harm him.

What I find most disturbing here is that we are not dealing with some kid who has no life experience. The guy is 52 and should have gotten some common sense in those years.

Sounds are metal rods specifically used for urethral insertion for a variety of medical reasons. BDSM'rs use them for insertion play. As I said with catheters, the same will apply with sounds, you need to learn sterile techniques. This means both for insertion and for cleaning.

Here is a link that describes the different sounds:

When inserting sounds or catheters I recommend using surgilube.

It is up to you to become educated about urethral insertion. There is plenty of classes in the BDSM world and information on the internet to help you become educated.

I am going to mention sterilization once again. Many people just use antibacterial soaps for cleaning. I do not recommend this. Antibacterial soaps do not kill viruses. HIV, AIDS, HERPES are viruses. Washing a sound with soap will not stop the spread of a virus. Autoclaving or using a pressure cooker will kill most viruses. So become educated on sterilization. It will save you a lot of trouble. I also do not recommend sharing a sound with anyone. But if you decide to autoclaving is a must.

LadyPact,
I never knew you enjoyed sounds :)
Now I have visions of you and your whips and a sounding member standing at attention! Do you ever travel to Germany? LOL

LadyPact -> RE: Catheters (1/12/2014 10:11:33 AM)

Yes, MM. They were a part of the game plan just last weekend. (There's a joke thread around here that I declared Jan 3 'stick things in your submissive day' and sounds were a part of that.) When I explained to tk what it was going to feel like on the receiving end, he ordered a set that night. [:D]

mummyman321 -> RE: Catheters (1/12/2014 10:34:57 AM)

LadyPact,
It would seem my visions were correct, but just with the wrong submissive!

Stick things in your submissive day.......hmmm that could end up being a long day for the subbie :)

I read this quickly and could have SWORN you said:

When inserting sounds or catheters I recommend using superglue.

Thankyou for all the info. The reason I started using cotton swabs is that several years ago I went to a clinic where I was told that I needed to be tested for a std. The nurse inserted what looked to be a long cotton swap, maybe 6 to 8 inches long. It was inserted until I squirmed and felt I was going to pee. I always wanted to repeat the feeling.

Just be aware that the cottons swaps in a doctor's office are typical sterile. The q-tips or other cotton swabs you buy at your grocery/drug store are not sterile. So there is a risk if you are using over the counter non sterile things.
