Dollparts,
What do you want from us? We can only give you our opinions and what has or has not worked for us. Yet you lash out at almost every one.

You got upset when your bulimia became a topic of discussion, but the only reason it became a topic is because YOU brought it up.

I also don't understand why your doctors don't know what the others doctors are saying. Because all the doctors here are connected. They can see each others notes as well as medications. My doctors are an email away. Yes, of course I can see them by appointment, but for quick questions, I can email them.

You complain that you Medicaid has copays making treatment impossible, yet when pressed you admit that your Medicaid is sufficient, just your drug copays MAY be an issue IF they are raised. So your copays are $1-$3. Lets go extreme, say 10 scripts at $3 a month.... $30 a month is too much???

Finally, highland hospital has a state of the art bariatric center. Surely they could be an information resource, that is if you want help.

I'm done with this thread. I'm putting you on block. I truly do wish you health.

I just moved to this area...I'm still getting my doctors set up here. And I'm on 15 medications...and I can handle the $1-3 copays no problem...its if they go up to $5 or $10 or more...I'd not be able to afford them all. That's why I don't want medicare b/c the copays would go up.

They won't do bariatric surgery on me b/c of my eating disorder. I have looked into it. I don't think it would make me lose weight anyways.

No matter what anyone suggests, you find a way for it to be unworkable.

The corner you have painted yourself into is one of your own making.
You can walk across the wet paint any time you wish, but you have to want to.

Breaking an 18 year compulsive habit (aka addiction) is terrifying.
You have to first want to and then commit to doing whatever it takes.

And you don't want to.

Whatever reasons you can fabricate, it all comes down to that:
You don't want to.
And giving any other reason is dishonest.

Very true. And considering I don't know even know one person who has truly recovered from an eating disorder...makes it hard to believe it's even possible. Maybe some day. But I'm content with how things are right now. It doesn't rule my life like it once did...it's just a small part of my daily routine. Kinda like pooping. Cept out a different place LOL

How pathetic. You WANT. To be the way you are, that's all there is too it. Its much easier to make ecuses for how you are than to do something.

No, you wouldn't qualify for weight loss surgery, and be truthful with yourself, you don't want to lose weight. The crap about your metabolic rate is when you are doing nothing. So instead of getting off your ass, you use that as an excuse to have an eating disorder.

You are nothing but excuses. Your health problems are all of your own creation. But it gets you attention which is what you really want. You lie to your partner which makes you untrustworthy to begin with. You lie to your healthcare providers, which is to your own detriment. Then you act like you don't understand why they won't precscribe certain things for you. You have so many self induced health problems nothing is likely to help. You say you take 15 scripts a day, and you probably shouldn't be on half of them.

Eat yourself to death, vomit, take laxatives until your body shuts down. Just teel your family that your casket is going to cost extra. They charge more for caskets to accommodate the morbidly obese.

I don't lie. Why do you keep saying I lie? And I don't really get attention for my eating disorder...I'd hate if I did. It's embarrassing. I don't even like talking about it in person.

And I don't abuse laxatives anymore. I haven't since 2008. Now that was hell to stop but I did it and I'm proud of that. I could easily go back to purging 10 times a day but I don't let myself do that...at least I have forced myself to keep it to once a day.

None of the prescriptions I take are really things I could not take...I've gone off everything that was optional. I just take things that keep me alive right now. Several of them are topical for my skin condition too. Four are just for my blood pressure.

I'm sure you could find thousands if you looked.

I no longer medicate with sex, alcohol, or drugs. My relationship with food isn't perfect, but it's much healthier. I haven't purged in decades. The last time I had an issue with under-eating was in 2004.

Raises hand...

I don't know if I have "truly recovered" as I said, it is like if you have an addiction, you just can't do some things, I'm an ex-smoker, I couldn't just buy a pack of cigs and then stop again. Same thing with food, I can skip the occasional meal but I can't make it a habit or I get really addicted to that light headed feeling and the bust of energy I get from going over the hunger barrier, a bit like a runner's high. But actually I can sit down and have a nice meal now with friends, without feeling guilty or counting calories and wondering how much exercises I have to do for it so I won't gain. If I'm getting hungry I can grab and eat an apple without compulsively checking the scales and wondering (more like panicking) if I will turn into Bubba the Hut.

It's a much better quality of life, much more fun, I don't miss the fainting spells from not having eaten, the constantly obsessing about calories and thinking about food all the time because I was always hungry. Right now I have to look up the calorie content in things, roughly know some stuff as I put it into the livejournal ap, same with exercises. 20 years ago I could tell you the calorie content of everything under the sun, I could even tell you how toasted cotton wool tasted (revolting). Oh and if you are having skin problems, eating disorders magnify them. You'd be amazed how much your food intake has to do with your skin.

Maybe I will get there eventually. I am a lot better now than I was. I'm thinking about having a protein shake and then a food item every day...maybe...

I have hidradenitis suppurativa so it's not something that will ever go away and will get worse as I get older...but I'm sure if I had proper nutrition, that would help with healing some.

kalikshama -> RE: Natural/OTC ways to treat severe pain? (2/17/2014 4:14:25 PM)

I asked myself I could make just one recommendation for you, what would it be? What's helped me the most? I realized it was learning to bear strong emotion - finding other means of coping besides sex, drugs, booze, and food. And what was the most helpful with that is Yoga For Emotional Flow. This has no yoga postures - Part 1 is yoga philosophy coupled with modern psycho-therapeutic concepts, and Part 2 is guided deditations based on Part 1.

My second recommendation would be to start gentle/beginners yoga (but you'd get more out of it if you understood the potential of yoga postures.)

Am forcing myself to stop here.

LafayetteLady -> RE: Natural/OTC ways to treat severe pain? (2/17/2014 4:14:37 PM)

Its much easier to say no one recovers. Just another excuse to keep on doing what's she doing. Its the "poor me, I can't help it, nobody can recver from this" mantra.

Four different blood pressure medications and still BP is out of control. Hmmm..can't imagine why. Doctors are throwing pills at you to cover your ass. I'm surprised none of them have made you sign a document acknowledging your refusal to be treated for the eating disorder to cover their ass. Oh wait, they probably don't know, since half the meds you take probably won't work at all with the not eating, purging.

Kudos to LC, kalikshama and anjelika for continuing to try to help you. I am here for the entertainment at this point. Couldn't care less whether you get help or not. I know a lost cause when I see one.

LadyConstanze -> RE: Natural/OTC ways to treat severe pain? (2/17/2014 4:18:41 PM)

That is most likely connected to your weight and you artificially slowing down your metabolism with starving your body of nutrients...

Have you ever had your hormones checked? Our old neighbour had horrible problems with it and they gave her an cream with oestrogen, seemed to help her a lot, she had it in her armpits so badly that she couldn't really have her arms down.

My main bp medicine doesn't need food. My tachycardia medicine does though. And then the spironalactone does but it doesn't seem to do much for my bp and I take it more for the blocking of male hormones and to help the HS....but I'm thinking about stopping it for a while and see what happens. Going to talk to my doctor about it and see what she thinks. I stopped the metformin b/c it made me too sick on so little food. But I didn't really need it...endo just thought it would help me lose weight and control the hormones/HS...it didn't. Just made me sick.

I haven't had them checked in several years but they were bad when I had them checked...they won't let me take estorgen b/c of the blood clotting risk and that it can raise my blood pressure. That's why I had to go off birth control and get an IUD.

LadyConstanze -> RE: Natural/OTC ways to treat severe pain? (2/17/2014 4:24:59 PM)

Well, get them checked and a topical cream might help, my ex neighbour had to lose weight and while they couldn't give her hormones orally, they gave her the topical cream containing oestrogen, since it's topical you need only very little, (no comparison to taking the pill) she just put it on her armpits. Her divorce made things worse, so maybe you stressing yourself also doesn't help.

I don't think I'm allowed topical either...at least my old ob/gyn wouldn't. I have really bad vaginal dryness b/c of the hormone imbalance and she said that the only thing that would really help would be estorgen cream but that she felt it was too dangerous for me to use. :(

Well clearly your only remaining option is to sit at the computer all day and mope.

You've ruled everything else out.

Seriously. Shot down everything.

Weight loss? Too hard.

Counciling? Can't afford

Applying for govt assist? Don't wanna.

Hormone test? Was bad before, best not to do it again.

How about you tell everyone what you WOULD be willing to do to help yourself, and save everyone the time.

I've been in the medical field for a long time, and I've never heard of so many useless, uncooperative doctors in one place before, lol.

Our doctor has a "face" he makes for patients like this... ಠ_ಠ

When he comes out, he yells at me like I can do anything about it. 45 years of lazy got them here in the first place man, what makes you think I can do anything with them now that they've worked themselves into a nursing home?

Side note, OP's well on her way to a nursing home if she doesn't straighten up. I have morbidly obese patients with a side order of the stroke-a-betes in their 40's and 50's all over the place. So MANY excuses, all day every day.
