Hello! A question for ponies, trainers, and anyone who has an answer. What are some excersises I can perform to strengthen my body for doing okay? Specifically, I wish to be able to do driving. I'm not particularly in shape, merely thin. ><

Hi Rottenbite!

Here is a site that has some info on training: http://www.cpony.com/home/. Expand Pony Training on the left, and look at Devices and Exercises.

If you are driving upright (two-legged), then I would think exercises that develop your stepping strength would be good, such as using a stairmaster, or running up and down steps. Also, if you Google exercises for skiers there are many that would be ideal for pony driving, since they focus on leg strength and flexibility.

Even easier, just high step each day and increase the speed and height as you get stronger.

Since every exercise site states this, so will I: check with your doctor first before starting any exercise program. That's just CMA advice.

Have fun!

You're welcome!

I have the Sunny Health & Fitness Climbing Stepper, which only cost $109. I like it because it takes up hardly any room, it's sturdy and it adjusts from 1-12 in resistance. I hope it's OK to post a brand name here. I got it online from the huge online store <starts with an A> and shipping was free.

If you want to get inspired by real horses, nothing beats a Friesian IMO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKFwyi-XkIg

Cheers!
