I just knew you'd back the owner. ------- One thing that's clear to me, black people are tired of this shit. I agree with others that there's a general dovetail with the disrespect of Obama as a black President and with the racially motivated VOTER ID laws trying to restrict turnout by the GOP. Against all the equivocation and denial of Racism --- Adam Silver just lowered the Gauntlet on arguably the worst owner in the history of the NBA. It was a private action that elated the players and fans. My only complaint about the action is that all the NBA wonks were talking about Donald Sterling instead of the Wizards who advanced by CHI.

The story I heard was he basically bought the award.... Receiving it after a huge donation... Not sure if the NAACP knew of the history either or that it shows badly for them. I do know it doesn`t make sterling look any better.

FR: He said something unbelievably stoooopit. Ignorance does not require poverty to be present. Every one of us has been an asshole at times. Money just makes ignorance seem more prescient (kind of like whiskey). If the Clippers suddenly (easily done) opted to stop winning as many games as they may normally, the value of the team falls. A corporate version of the "Darwin Awards". It'll sort itself out just fine.

Of course they do. They have regulations and procedures that govern the owners, which the owners agreed to. It's entirely within "community property laws." It's a private affair.

I have read it was only $5,000.. the NAACP have since come out and said its not gonna happen and they are giving his puny donation back to him.. no, it doesnt make them look good, shows how cheaply they sell themselves and their organization..
