TheHeretic, is it the inefficence of the weapon that pisses you off or are you just mocking the death of a persons to make a political point?

I think it was just bait for suckers. [:D]

Well I think it depends on how you use it, the difference is in empathy or the lack of, if you don't get it there is your shortcoming not mine.

Back about 6 weeks ago, we had the shooting spree in Las Vegas. A couple who was too extreme for the militia out at Bundy's ranch, were asked to leave, so they decided to go on a rampage and shoot up a Walmart. A man with a carry permit tried to intervene, got the drop on one of the suspects, but didn't know that the wife was also involved and was himself shot. People here mocked his death. Did you criticize them for doing so? Where was your empathy then?

Ken assured me that no one was asked to leave the Bundy Ranch so since he knows everything you must be wrong.

Where it always is.... The person carrying the gun deserves it... he was ebil ... EBIL for even thinking of carrying a weapon that could be used to defend himself...

Since I live out these ways, yes, they were not only asked to leave, they were the ONLY people asked to leave. Really, "told to leave" is more accurate. That is not in dispute by anyone.

It seems like every January 1 and July 1, some new firearm restriction takes effect out here in California. How's this for reducing gun violence?

A 23-year-old Lancaster resident was arrested Saturday on suspicion of killing a man with a bow and arrow after the victim tried to break up an argument, sheriff deputies said.

At least the neighbors weren't awakened by a gunshot in the. night...

But really.....automatic or not....these bows just AREN'T very efficient and they don't do what really needs to be done. Think about how less effective Cho would have been at Virginia Tech if he had tried to shoot arrows through all the classroom doors. He made the right choice to accomplish his goal. If he had been using a bow, he might have only killed 10 or 12 people instead of 32. Smart man.

The bow seems to have been efficient here.

As for spree killers of the type you mentioned, how many more might they have killed with fire, explosions, or poison gas? Ever heard of Timothy McVeigh?

Yes, mention a mass shooting to play on sympathy and prove that yes Virgina, you are an idiot.... *eye roll* The point isnt bows are bad... the point is you remove weapon A.... people kill with weapon B.... People arent going to magically star in a musical with rainbows and puppydog tails... and love everyone for ever and ever and ever and ever....

People are still going to kill people, and remove a gun, they will use a knife, remove a knife, they will use a bow, remove the bow they will use a rock... a plastic bag...a belt,,, a piece of dental floss... or illegally use the weapons that were removed...

You are thinking small, Bama. No guns = no problems. I mean, imagine if they had tried to commit the Rwandan genocide with garden tools or something

If California had fully banned firearms it might have prevented the earthquake.

You some how assume I'm supposed to know about it, or that I was part of a group of person that live on the other side of the globe. Of course I'm sympathetic with the victim of a random act of violence, but I do not use a single extreme episode to build some sort of law on it.
