Quite possibly. My dad had it and so did his mum. There is a history of eczema, asthma and dermatitis (all of the same family apparently) in my family - hence the conclusion it may well be hereditary.

Anyway, you have it so the reasons are unimportant. If it helps, using Capasal shampoo kept it fully under control - no itchyness, flakes of skin, nothing - it was as if I didn't have it.

Feline, waxing your brows will not cause dandruff like you described in another thread, waxing can cause a multitude of problems, but dandruff isn't one of them, the issue with your brows is most likely related to what's going on up top.

Northerngent, I agree with you just washing her hair more wont help to much to begin with, she'll have to use a specialized shampoo, however just using it once a week wont help, she'll have to use it at least twice a week if not every other day for a while for it to really be usefull to her.

Feline, keep after it sweetheart, your asking all the right questions and we can all see how concerned you are about this, it is important to know that anytime we have a build up of things on our scalp that can impede hair growth, some people who let it get very bad can lose hair, we don't want this for you as you've got such gorgeous hair.

Umm and NorthernGent, I'm not flirting but I think the bald head on you looks great

You're too kind. Did I mention I'm a sucker for a kind heart? :-) And yes, thinking about it, I did have a period where I used it quite often but it wasn't for long.

By the way, I did not lose hair because of it. The shampoo kept it fully under control. I went bald because most of the males in my family went bald at a young age, nothing to do with dermatitis. As said, get hold of the right shampoo and it will work wonders.

Oh shoot feline, I was not in ANY way suggesting that because NorthernGent is bald that you'd go bald too, I thought he just decided to go bald cause it's sexy on him...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Nizoral -- which IMO and my Dr.'s is superior to other shampoos like Head and Shoulders, S. Blue, and T-Gell.

You can even get Nizoral in prescription strength.

Without trying to outdo you with a "my shampoo is better than your shampoo" routine, I tried Nizoral and various others before Capasal and it did nothing for me.

You must be able to get hold of Capasal in the US. I mean, you have everything over there - waffles, aligators, Ted Bundy, sunny delight, religious lunatics - you name it.

My dad always did say everything loose ends up in california, but more specifically Sanfransico.
