I'm with you red. When you're younger, you tend to go older to get the maturity level you're seeking in a man. Once you're older, if not around your same age, then you want to go younger.
The most I've gone older (when I was in my 20s) was 11 years. Generation gap in music, dancing, pop culture, sexual experimentation; and with the older men I was with, they were too set in their ways. I didn't like having to be the one making most of the adjustments and adaptations.
Although I say I want someone my own age, that has never panned out for me beyond platonic friendships. The first time I went younger (by just 5 years), our generation gap reared it's ugly head, but that was in my early 30s and guys still in their (late) 20s weren't ready to settle down and not mature enough. My last sub was 10 years younger, and I thought that was too great of an age gap, until 3 months into our friendship, I couldn't deny how remarkably compatible we were. Before then, I hadn't taken him seriously as a contender for my affections. So I'll go 10 years younger, but not more than that. Not more than 3-4 years older, and that's pushing it at this stage in my life.
