Now Sanity... I am sure the good citizens just protesting will be happy to turn the shooters or shooter over to police or to provide information leading to their arrest...Lets just wait a few days and give the protesters the opportunity to be responsible citizens.

Butch

But really now, are you claiming that cops lives matter? I thought you knew better.

Yeah, they are pretty much doughnut holes as evidenced by the scathing DOJ report.

Me???..... No I am serious... now I am making assumptions that may be wrong but this was no shooting from across the street from a knoll or building... Unless reports are wrong there were three or four shots two of which hit their mark... Now unless the shooter is lucky or an expert shooter it would be unlikely that a shot of a hundred feet or more with a hand gun would have that result. I think it is far more likely the shots came from the crowd or from a vehicle in the street. Again assumptions because the projectiles size have not bee revealed but it it were a rifle I doubt both officers, one shot below the eye, would have been released from the hospital as they were this morning.

So there is a good chance someone saw the shooter or shooters and of course gave their testimony to police.

I agree with everything you said except the last statement. I hope I am wrong.

That is great shooting, unless they were just shooting at the group trying to scare the cops, it would explain why the cop who was shot in the face was not seriously injured. At that range the more popular rounds, like a 9mm would have lost a lot of their punch.

Well maybe we will find out... they have three suspects in custody and impounded a vehicle...I'll bet the shooting came from the vehicle... They did say the suspects were found from information obtained from a witness.

Good I am glad to be wrong on this.
Yes, if they planed to do the shooting it would make sense that they would want to leave quickly.

It appears that an arrest was made in the shooting of the two police officers in Ferguson.

quote:

Jeffrey Williams was arrested Saturday night and is charged with two counts of assault in the first degree, three counts of armed criminal action and firing a weapon from a vehicle, St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch said during the afternoon press conference.

Williams, who has attended several demonstrations in Ferguson, Mo., told police that he fired shots at someone he had a dispute with, and hit the officers, who he alleges were not his intended target.

McCulloch said Williams’ story of a dispute with another person -- including that he did not target the police -- is still part of the investigation, which is ongoing.

Yep... the shooter says he was not shooting at police but another protester he was in an argument with... Could be true because the police said they saw the flashes about 125 yards away. Too far for an accurate hand gun shot... But shooting someone cop or not should get the same punishment. Pitiful when you have to pay $13,000 just so a witness will point out a crime.... If it were me i would not accept the money or have it given to the wounded police officers and their families.

They could have put out a contract on him for less.

I would think he is going back to prison for parole violation, just for having the firearm. And he should.
