There are some pretty serious accusations being spouted here, in the way of insults. You all might want to tone it down. Anything close to a gun thread brings out the worst and a few more pages will only be more inflammatory.

Think about it, please.

Wait for the spin Peon. As Eric Holder says, never waste a good crisis. But the answer to your question is, we've seen this sort of thing before and know how it will play out. Yes, that is what you on the left do.

Rahm Emanuel said that.

Hmm. I do see what I feel to be a suspicious tendency to forestall any effort towards useful change towards preventing such outrages in the future by means of a two-pronged 'attack': one, to lament - loudly and ostentatiously; two, to accuse those who call for changes of 'trying to make political capital out of a tragedy'.

Show me what you think is useful change and show me what you call accusations of trying to make political capital.

You are having a discussion on minority communities.
You just arent using facts, or understanding the deeper issues. you dont have the compassion or the knowledge.just your particular brand of koolaid to fall back on..
An assumption about murder figures is just that an assumption, no back up , no link, nothing but your own ugliness in your post.
Im not the one deflecting it from being a racist attack or a racist terror attack, by saying that blacks are the cause of your country having such a shitty murder rate.
but its ok, you can blame who you want, innocent people will keep dying, and you will only be angry when someone says you are part of the problem...like your response to me, is to ...blame anyone else.
Your post says you want resolution without being involved.
Mod 3, I didnt see your post....if you need to delete...well yanno

Tweak may I ask why you so adamantly defended the actions of the Islamic murder in Australia because he was obviously insane... Yet refuse to even consider this murderer could also be mentally ill and exhibit the same compassion toward him?

Myself I believe they are both murderers and do not deserve to share another breath with civilized humans...but I am curious why you are taking opposing positions on obviously insane murderers.

Here you are calling him a terrorists yet when I tried to say the same about the murderer in your country you defended him as an act of insanity not terrorism...Will is this not the same?

KD, the difference is the 'Islamist' here had a long history of mental illnesses, psychiatric diagnoses and bizarre public behaviour, as I pointed out in the other thread.

As far as I know, no one has suggested that Roof is mentally ill thus far, though that may change in the future.

I meant in general, across society, when such atrocities occur. As for 'useful change' - well, that's up to you to work out - unless you believe that there's nothing that *can* be changed, that is. Is the latter the case, for you?

Oh Lucy, my response was to Cloudboy and had the exact same number of links his several statement did. Yet, I see you have no problem with him. Where does compassion come into a rational debate? And, should compassion be necessary to be shown in order to qualify in your sort of logic, did not my post on "everybody" grieving together despite race or religion count. Well, of course it did but you ignore that in order to be hateful, which is a true under base to your sort of sick compassion. And who did I blame for anything?

I don't see one salient point you've made except to deflect the discussion. Which is pretty much what you do.

This is as depraved as any massacre can be. If the victims at the Christian church were white and the perp were Muslim, Sanity would be more concerned and alarmed.

Domestic Terrorism doesn't really concern him.

He probably doesn't believe we can curb domestic terrorism, but somehow thinks we can curb it abroad. Each is a noble goal, but BUSH's "War on Terrorism" only made things worse.

sure he would and if they had been a bunch of old white republicans you would be dancing in the street [:'(]

1. Shooting sprees are not rare in the United States.

2. Gun ownership in the United States is declining overall, but nearly a third of households still have a gun.

3. Active shooter events have become more common in recent years

4. Of the 12 deadliest shootings in the United States, six have happened from 2007 onward.

5. America is an unusually violent country. But we're not as violent as we used to be.

6. The South is the most violent region in the United States.

7. More guns tend to mean more homicide.

8. States with stricter gun control laws have fewer deaths from gun-related violence.

9. Gun control, in general, has not been politically popular -- and its popularity has been declining lately.

10. While general gun control isn't that popular, particular policies are.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2015/06/18/11-essential-facts-about-guns-and-mass-shootings-in-the-united-states/

Actually, it's very well established that more guns equals less crime.

I think this lady would agree with you although I am sure there are some on this forum who would have preferred her call 911 and wait for help to arrive.

So, no personal comment, typical from you. Can't put an idea out there to be criticized now can we. In general, across society, there are billions of people on this planet. How is it you are going to prevent this sort of thing happening? I even posted where it was happening in totalitarian China, except with knives and cleavers. So, you tell me how you control this sort of thing? It's easier, I know to criticize than to find a solution.

kdsub -> RE: Unidentified Man attacks Black Church in SC (6/19/2015 11:13:33 AM)

Tweak I see no difference at all.. Would you not say the actions of this man could only be performed by someone insane?

Below i am posting some of your comments that could easily be said about this man.

You said

quote:

Please stop taking this poor deranged individual seriously”

Then

quote:

“Most people here accept that the perp was a deeply troubled individual with serious mental and legal challenges.

And

quote:

“ If you insist on taking this demented soul seriously that’s your choice… It doesn’t seem justified by the facts.

And

quote:

“So the picture emerging is one of a deeply isolated and troubled man.”

I could post more they are all over that thread and I really do not mean to be putting you in an uncomfortable position… but I don’t think you see the irony of your posts in this thread.

Do I hear the stomping of pretty little feet in order to deflect. Oh, and where are your links? Let's not make this terrible thing deflect into a gun control, issue. Let's have some compassion while the community still grieves please.

Nup. Sorry old chap. I'm tired of dealing with intellectual parasites. We're all now more than abundantly clear that gun control won't help as far as your (far) end of the political spectrum is concerned The ball is on your court. What *will* work?

I was pretty sure that would be you're response. Intellectual escapism. Let others post ideas you can criticize. Don't ever post a personal thought.

Do you think its possible to fix all of the worlds problems without a total lock down of all freedom?

And would that really be a fix...
