Right, it's called motivated reasoning. MM usually has a good response to his ilk, namely, alright "What is your proposed solution to roll back gun violence and incidences of mass shootings?"

Lord and Master, who regrettably no longer posts here, used to ask, OK, where do you draw the lines on gun ownership?

Answers to each item are rarely forthcoming. Luckily, an informed American can see that guns increase the risk of a gun tragedy in the home, and then act on that information. (i.e. not own one.)

--------

To see the insanity of the USA one need only read this article:

Oregon Killings Amplify Crusade of Virginia Tech Victim’s Father

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/11/us/oregon-killings-amplify-crusade-of-virginia-tech-victims-father.html?_r=0

^^^^ Since this father launched his efforts to protect US citizens from gun-deaths, VA, his home state, has expanded gun right 2x since the VA Tech shooting.

The bottom line here is that the legislature declined to pass the reforms that Peter Read and his supporters wanted. On the other hand, also in The New York Times and also attacking insanity, this time in the persons of Cruz and Trump, David Brooks writes...

These insurgents can’t even acknowledge democracy’s legitimacy — if you can’t persuade a majority of your colleagues, maybe you should accept their position. You might be wrong! People who don’t accept democracy will be bad at conversation. They won’t respect tradition, institutions or precedent. These figures are masters at destruction but incompetent at construction. These insurgents are incompetent at governing and unwilling to be governed.

So what does this add up to? When the majority agrees with you, democracy is noble and good. When they don't not so much, because they're insane. Yeah, no. That dog won't hunt.

K.

Are you advocating arming the rioters with lethal weapons?

You are a blonde, right? Or just too foolish to understand the point.

The point is that those people defended their property with guns. I am sure the truck driver wished he had some means other than pleading for his life while he was being beaten with bricks to the point of almost being killed.

I was a witness to the madness. It was not the fact that the National Guard was deployed that stopped the riots, it was the fact there was nothing left to burn, steal or destroy.

I was there from the first day and watched those mobs beat the hell out of unarmed people.

The police couldnt protect anyone, and yet, the anti gun fanatics would go to great lengths to deny the law abiding citizens the means to defend themselves.

Privately owned guns protected lives and property.

And your snarky remark indicates that you probably would have been cheering the mob on.

Your Op deserves snark. You are right about one thing, the police couldnt protect anyone, especially Rodney King.

As for Tweaks not getting your point, you didnt get hers, not by a long shot (pun fully intended)

Well as a legislator, if you don't have the votes you can''t move on an issue. That's democracy. The Freedom Caucus is upset about their own impotency, and so won't support anything at all in response to their own lack of national support.

The result has been a kind of stalemate: no one will Support the agenda of the Freedom Caucus, and the Freedom Caucus won't support anything at all if they can't get their way.

^^^ These guys are in the wrong business and are bad politicians for the reasons David Brooks cites.

Alright, for the anti gun, more regulations, more restrictions, more "what kind of gun" you can own folks.

I have seen quite a few people say that you do not need a gun for self defense, thats what the police are for.

So, since pictures are worth a 1000 words, then video must be worth a few million.

The best argument for private gun ownership.

You really have to love history.

I just saw this horrible video out of Jerusalem.

I'm afraid that wasn't the point I was making at all.

Your post claimed to identify "The Best Historic Argument in Keeping Guns". I pointed out the obvious folly of your claim.

I note that neither you nor any of the other pro-2nd Amendment posters here has been able to present any rebuttal to my post. So I guess you have tacitly conceded the point.
