If an agreement is reached between both the owning Master and the part time Master, quite possibly yes.

If an agreement is reached only between the part time Master and the slave without their owning Master's knowledge... then the train is off the track and needs to be stopped.

Perhaps you could talk to your Master about a part time Dom...

I was thinking it sounded like a cluster fuck, waiting to happen.

It's best with one set of hands on the wheel.

This also sounds like mass confusion.

I would find that very confusing.

Isn't it better to be led by one then overwhelmed by 2?

'no man can serve two Masters'

how would this work out i wonder, if one Dom made demands and compflicted with the demands of the other?
just something to chew on.

You might find some useful discussion in the Polyamory forum, or on polyamory lists not about BDSM. What you're looking for is a secondary relationship (the part time master) when you already have a primary relationship (existing master).

Being both poly and a Dom as well as my wife being a Dom I made it clear that if I had a Pet she would be mine alone as far as who her Master was. Of course if I was out then she would have to obey my wife but the general feeling I get is that if two Masters have the same sub.. its just bad news.

Maybe if one Master explicitly gave control to another Master so that the sub knew who is the boss it could work but wow that is a mine field I would not want to step into with a sub. There would always be that little bit of doubt as to where her loyalty was. But then for me loyalty is a big deal.

i would have to ask why?  Under what circumstances, for fun? because the Master is unable to do what needs to be done with the sub?  There are so many variables how can one answer in a vacuum?

I think thats a really great question!

I have wondered about having 2 Masters myself.  I am trying to allow myself to be open to the idea of having a Master who has 2 subs but I have a hard time with believing that both women would be on equal footing.  So I have wondered what would it be like to have 2 Masters.  I know it would probably be confusing unless all 3 parties got together and had mutual understanding.  It's not impossible.  I have heard and seen cases where it has worked.  I think the big key is communication.

Best of luck to you

Perhaps my last part-time sub would be a good example.  Her SadoDom Hubby hadn't played her in over a year.  she sold all the toys she'd collected over years (including large inversion wheels & suspension equipment).  They both had other outside subs/slaves for diversions.  she knew of my reputation & we'd met a few times for me to teach her a few tricks for her subs.  Eventually, w/ hubby's knowledge & permission, she asked if I'd play her maybe once or twice a month.

I confirmed w/ hubby that it was ok & we set a date.  Since he was highly computerized, I gave him time & date & he turned on his video cameras in the house from work so he could see that she was ok.  He wasn't jealous but it did tweak his nature & he started to play her again.  And we had a couple of sessions where we both played her.

They were well matched & it improved their marriage in the process.

IMO, we all have multiple aspects to our personalities & it's almost impossible to find a single person to complement us.  If all are comfortable with the situation, having multiple subs or slaves or Dom/mes is one viable solution.  And ... if multiple Dom/mes work together, everyone can learn some new tricks.  For my previous bi subs/slaves, I've let them play w/ a friendly leatherdyke Domme for the variety they enjoyed.

Just my 2cents

Co ownership is not something that translates well with a human being. Framed from the point of view of hetero male master/female submissive/hetero male master, the situation is contradictary and unworkable. Now a couple co-owning is a possibility that might be workable assuming communication is adequate, but I don't see this feasible or in the interests of the former hypothetical.

I have met a sub or two who was unowned and dating. The first wanted to play and I put her on a task which she couldn't do because she promised this other date something contrary. I explained to her that was understandable but that was the last time this was going to be acceptable. If she wants to shop around she needed to be task-neutral, and if she wanted to have anything of substance, she would need to give one of her dates a complete and exclusive effort. If I meet someone who is shopping around I will give her a date or two. If that doesn't win her over I cut her loose. It's not worth my time.

Hate to break it to some people. but having two masters is far more common than people think and it can work out perfectly well.

Whether maysub here has the right situation for it or not is another question.  It would seem unlikely from what I've seen so far, but certainly possible.

What do you want to bet the relationship doesn't last two months?

fast reply,

Wouldn't it work well if it were two gay men with one submissive male or female?

Julia,

People make the strangest things work but some can't make anything work.  I knew I was going to get nailed for not qualifying my response.

I have done a triad with a married woman and her husband and while the relationship with her was stormy as hell, him and I got along fabulously and the issues I had in that relationship had zero to do with the fact it was a triad.

However, I see nothing in this post that leads me to believe this one has a chance in hell of working.

I was just thinking about the outlier situation Crappy, this is an intellectual exercise for me,.... it is something I hope no one tries to break me of, because the other night I got into a debate about whether or not a masturbating masochist is topping or bottoming...laughing my ass off... it is just, as my Dom says, I think of weird shit....Ha Ha.
