It's not that they don't want to vote, it's that there isn't a candidate they want to vote for.

There has to be someone they are willing to vote for. Not necessary to vote for the main two parties.
Even if the one they voted for has no chance of winning this term, but if he sees that his third place or whatever, it will encourage him to run for next term and next term, until he builts enough support as an independent to win. Anything is possible.
It starts with votes to encourage the individual that you think is fit to run this country! Everybody should play a part in helping the one who they feel is suitable for running the country become President. It's like staying home and feeling defeated that the one you want is never gonna win, this is not gonna help encourage that person or help the goal of having someone you like come true. Regardless how slim their efforts may be. That is exerting whatever little power and privilege they have to put in their vote for their preferential person.

I've responded to vincentml's post that he should vote for the person that best represents him. There are plenty of people who will not vote 3rd party because the GOP and Dem's have all but extinguished the odds that a 3rd party might be able to grow and succeed. I will be voting, and I recommend people make their decision the same way I'm going to; vote for the candidate that best represents you.

Desi -you're a good guy - but you are not considering that parties play an active, important role. Even if you tried to ban them, they would reform out of necessity.
Do you know how hard it is to qualify for the ballot in each state? Research that one issue and you will understand why parties exist.

There would be no need to qualify for a ballot. It's a Federal election. Obviously, there will need to be lots of election reform laws. One would be that anyone that is qualified to run for President can do so. Another will be the way the field of candidates gets narrowed down. States would have to allow anyone running on the ballot (candidates to be listed in alphabetical order). Federal laws are primary, are they not?

Or complement. I do think that sentiment was what she was going for, though it would be funny to see the running mate, go, "Great job! You're completely inexperienced!" [:D]

They say Bill Gates made Microsoft great by hiring the right people for the right jobs.
Trump will just have to run America the same way.
And Microsoft is one of the greats that came out of America and conquered the world.

closetoyou -> RE: Clinton vs. Trump, 2016 (5/6/2016 2:14:53 AM)

you would therefore be much safer with Mrs. CLINTON.

Right first time, I think. The first thing Trump would do is surround himself with minions who'll say things like, 'Wow, O Great Porcine Orange God, your stupidity and ignorance is just so *magnificent*!'

There's a superb principle behind this, which we should all remember and apply to all relevant occasions. For instance, the next time the pilots of an airliner are all incapacitated for some reason, the steward should get straight on the loudspeaker with 'Can the person who knows absolutely the least about aircraft please present him/herself urgently in order to land this plane?' With any luck they'll not only get a complete ignoramus, but one who also shows clear signs of major narcissistic personality disorder.

More like, "Great Job! Despite being completely inexperienced! You're doing good!"

Not a relevant comparison. How is this even relevant? Trump can hire the best advisors in every field to help him make the best decisions.

Flying a plane is a technical skill. Running a country is management skills.

I would support anything that moves us away from a two party system, and anything that removes us from the electoral college, on the other hand, we would have such issues without an electoral college as, what if a president-elect died between the election and the oath of office.............

It isn't simple, but neither impossible.

Well these idiots http://www.livescience.com/43424-who-invented-the-light-bulb.html What audacity they had to even try with, with their inexperience! They should have just gave up and left us in the dark.
Such fools. All brilliant people start inexperienced. In fact people with great passion, care, and strength and yes healthy narcissism can actually surpass the experienced mediocre.
Your bucket has a hole in it and your arguments are losing water.

The motto of the story is all these individuals worked together to make what you enjoy today. Team effort!

They werent inexperienced, they were experienced inventors and scientists. However, they had no great experience in bankruptcy. So, your point is valid, and if that is what we want this country to do, by all means; Hairpie.

Oh, yeah, a reporter examined that very picture and there is a bikini clad Marla Maples on his desk, you may have to revise the marriage counts.

You are expecting every President to be completely infallible? Obama fucked up with Obamacare. He has no experience with implementing a healthcare system and it's all trial and error, learn as he goes along.

Weighing his successes against his failures. His successes on positive numbers and failures are minor.

That's good enough.
